off topic time:

for a boat noob who is looking for a good rtr what would you personally suggest?

i dont mind if it doesnt come with eletronics but i need everything else (im to dumb about boats to scrach build and just buy a hull)

top speed isnt the biggests deal to me but i want something that handles great (but 60mph would be nice lol)

Most rtr's are really designed for 4s, not 6s. What kind of hull do you want; cat, hydro or mono? 4s will get you into the 50's with any of these hulls with the right setup. Budget is one of the biggest factors...how must do you want to spend?

What are the dimensions & weight?

No, this design is specific to Traxxas. They paid for the development, they keep the rights to the motor.

But, you will be able to buy the motor by itself direct from Traxxas.

I have seen the other offerings. I would opt for better electronics over the other. Plus, being Traxxas, most every hobby shop and online store will carry parts for it. The same can't be said for the others. I have read and seen many people have issues with both proboat and aquacraft equipment as well.

For a casual boater this makes the most sense. I won't be out every weekend using it, this will be a once a month type thing at most. This will not be an rc I spend a lot of time modding and fooling around with. I want to have a boat to take and put in large ponds or small lakes when it's convenient.
