Was having fun on the CNC, my pinion remover....

Well after long hours of remodifying, finally the finished support with the mechanical braking working!
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-N...832_resize.JPG And the Final test assembly pics. Wiring still needs to be sorted out. The mamba XL is huge, and with the Cap Pack not an easy fit in the Savage. Looks like a good place for now, the cap pack has no place but to have the wires bent as in the following pics. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8...845_resize.JPG https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-x...841_resize.JPG bottom view https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-O...847_resize.JPG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3...857_resize.JPG |
Did a test run on 5S everything looks fine, the brakes are awesome!
need to add a skid plate, as the last time i was bashing, i ran over a fist sized rock at full speed it dislocated the center diff assembly, sheared the TVP and a huge dent in the 6mm bottom plate and broke the plastic diff bearing support, the dogbones were also dislocated and bent, just have this pic forgot to take more pics. note the sheared TVP and the dent in the alum plate. So skid plate then 6S WOT...... https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-q...138_resize.jpg |

|
Just use the short bit of code after v= , and place it between some [ youtube] [ /youtube] tags ( without any gaps ):

Thanks suicideneil, will give it a try on my next video ;)
|
Ok lets give it a try, third video i forgot to post.
current setup i missed to post earlier; 15t pinion 50t spur for center differential mashers and badlands standard mt size. trenchers 30series stretched on 3.2: standard mt wheels obviously a 1717on XL2 running 5S in the previous 2 vids, 6S in this one. Next is to add a castle creations 10amp bec for the servos to have the Mamba XL2 internal bec not loaded. currently have the standard sf-50 as steering servo and an sf-10 for braking. have in my tool box a hobby king HK15298B 20kg-cm on 7.2v; thought to give it a try before i fork out 100usd or so on a quality one. will need to add another bec to have 7.2v for steering and 6v for the braking servo. let me see how it goes... |
Need some Help Please!
Was trying to hookup my Servos to an External BEC without going thru the Rx, as i am planning on running the Steering servo on 7.2v and the throttle on 5.5 or 6v and both from external BEC. This is the Layout i have in mind, which I actually tried but it did not work?!?! any thing wrong i am doing? https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-i...7/Clip_100.jpg |
Is the ESC bec on? because now you have no power at the receiver from ex BEC.
|
Yes it is on, i understand it is always on, the red and black wires are feeding power to the RX. I do not intend of powering the receive from the BEC as i will be using 7.2v output from the BEC.
The receiver is working ok, because in the way i have tried the connections, as per the above diagram, the esc gets the motor to work properly forward; but the servos are twitchy, they rotate to one end and stay there, there seems to be a problem with the signal (the yellow wires in the image) are not properly coordinated. I have the same question in a separate post http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...626#post423626 ; seems getting somewhere with the help of other forum members, Hope i can try it soon and post my findings. And thanks for your input. |
You have the BEC connected to the wrong battery- it must only be connected to the main ground, and the positive wire coming from the same pack:
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...tteryinput.jpg ( ignore the rx and servo wiring as it doesn't apply to you ) This is how how Castle says to wire up the BEC when running a couple batteries in series. |
thanks suicideneil, from what you posted I think I'm understanding the issue a bit more, I surmise if the rx is poweredfrom the same source powering the servos, things should workout.
reply from phone, will elaborate more later. |
Moved the discussion of the BEC and Servos to the other thread...
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...640#post423640 Please post the relevant issue there. Apologies for the inconvenience. Thanks suicideneil for posting both threads, me myself got lost! |
