I'm more of a fan of the Raptor shell really, these Quad bike shells make a serious bit of hobby-grade r/c look like an oversized kids toy in my eyes, but you did a heck of a paint job on it so it looks sweet...

I've always loved the quad bodies, especially with a rider, which I saw in the background of one of the pics.

I vote quad!

Blazerss 07.05.2012 09:43 PM

To some degree I see where the quad body could make a truck like this look more like something you find at walmart, but the paint really sets it off. Unfortunately I can't claim the paint job, but my wallet will. HAHA

I have the rider, but I also have 2 more clear razorback body's. I want to paint the rider up to match one of the bodys, but can't decide how to do it or for which one.

Its been a while, but I finally got around to mounting my aluminum FLM half case to the Gmaxx. I wanted to mount my strobe braces as well, but you can't use them with Gmaxx shock towers when you have the spacers on them to extend the length of the truck. I think that the truck is done now. Not too much more I could do to it except for change out the few plastic pieces that are left for aluminum. I'm going to try and take it out for some good pics one day. I don't really think any that I have taken have really done the truck justice.

Any progress on your other Gmaxx builds?

Blazerss 10.28.2012 08:04 PM

Well actually I have gotten rid of my other Gmaxx chassis' except for my G1. I'm planning on doing more custom work in the future and just didn't see myself building anymore Gmaxx stuff. I only kept my G1 because of how rare I think it is with the battery trays. Here is a pic of it when I mounted my VBS to it to see how I liked the look.

HAHA.

Here are more pictures.

Here you can see the battery tray pieces

Here you can see the chassis braces are thicker and are squared on the edges compared to the newer braces
http://i45.tinypic.com/4hpr8n.jpg

The bottom of the chassis is very solid

Here is is compared to a G2 carbon chassis

Personally I think it is the rarest Gmaxx chassis other than the colored carbon fiber

Klausen 10.30.2012 12:14 AM

Guess you are right about the rarety. At least I have never seen this one before, and I will asumme I have visited most webpages with Gorillastuff the last decade

But it looks good, and certainly was the beginning of something very good.
