wow... that much $$ on 1/18 scale.... too bad price couldn't be to scale also.. :)

Re~Mix 08.27.2006 04:20 PM

The price is to scale, since a truck of that caliber of a bigger size, would get you well into the $1000's

I just ordered a duratrax mini-quake SE... Should it be powered by a mamba or tekin?...

well they both have pros and cons

mamba is computer programable via the usb link and it is waterproof. but the usb link costs extra and it can only handle 3s lipo

the tekin does all its programming on the controller, can handle 4s lipo and i believe it has a higher surge current rating, but it is not waterproof, just reistant...... IMO go for the tekin

squeeforever 08.27.2006 08:36 PM

I wouldn't go for either. Go for a Quark 33 amp controller and a Neu motor.

aqwut 08.28.2006 12:30 AM

i still can't decide, but the Mamba is cheaper and water proof... but i'd like to run 4s... I've never used a quard esc before... How much would that quark/neu motor combo cost?.. Mike able to get it?

Re~Mix 08.28.2006 01:04 AM

I emailed mike about a quark/neu/lipo combo yesterday, I'll let you know when I get a response.

captain harlock 08.28.2006 01:06 AM

He is surely able to get it.
How about a tekin controller and a lehner motor?

aqwut 08.28.2006 06:40 AM

so the mamba 8K can run 3S lip without a problem?...

yes.......

captain harlock 08.28.2006 11:14 AM

But I think it'll be over worked at that rate.

Re~Mix 08.28.2006 11:16 AM

I've been looking at the Neu motor site lately, and I don't see any 1/18th size motors. Just the 1100 series w/ 2.3mm shafts. I may have to go with a Wraith motor instead.

glassdoctor 08.28.2006 11:26 AM

The 1100 series look good for 1/18 I thought. At 1.14" dia and 1.7oz they are a little fatter than a mamba/hacker b20.

I would go with the 1105 1.2" long for a 18t and probably a 1107 for the bigger minis.

Re~Mix 08.28.2006 11:49 AM

Any idea if that would bolt straight up? I also am clueless on gearing. I think that those are a little too big, judging by the amp rating it wouldn't work with a quark 33a controller which is what I intended to use. And it looks as if I'll be going 2s Lipo. This is beginning to be quite a plunge into the bank account.

I have been talking with B-p-p about their setups, so I'll see what information I get. I'd love to order from mike, the only deal is I need this stuff asap.

Mike.L 08.29.2006 02:43 PM

i was looking through the lmt sight, and found a motor that might be great for this 1/18 application, has anyone seen the 1020? its small and about the size of the normal 18th size motors
