IMO. Great bang for the buck. Mine have been great, and Dan over there is a good guy as well. Been running 2 (2s + 3s, 8k) sets like this for 6 months now. For the money, you can't go wrong.

do you know if they would fit in the e-maxx battery trays?

squeeforever 08.30.2006 11:29 PM

They should.

jhautz 08.30.2006 11:41 PM

No. If I remember right, they were just a little to big in both length and width. The exact measurements of my packs are 2.0in x 5.7in including the bulges on the ends where the wires are under the shrink wrap. Measure your battery tray. Also, it would have been a tight squeeze for the 3s pack to go in and out without damaging it on the edge of the motor plate.

I haven't tryed it in a long time and I don't have a stock chassis around here any more to check it out.

cemetery gates 08.30.2006 11:49 PM

well length and hight are ok (the transmission on my custom chassis is higher than on the stock chassis) but the width is off by 2mm:035: :035: :035:

what should i do...........

jhautz 08.30.2006 11:54 PM

You could load them in the tray standing on edge. :005: You would have to come up witha strap of some sort to hold it though. And it would raise the COG a touch.

cemetery gates 08.31.2006 12:05 AM

i could do that, it would not really raise my cog because i am running 16 cells now with 6 flat and 2 on top. BTW i am going run the gorillamaxx straps and if you look at the pics on the first page, i dremeled out the back of the chassis so i could fit 7 cells flat. (i think i could fit 9 flat it i made a plate for the cells so they would not hand off the end of the chassis)

I remember TrueRC was selling pairs of 2S2P 8ah packs a while back. They were supposed to fit the stock chassis...

i think Squee means using 2 2s2p 8k batteries for a total of 4s2p............

Serum 08.31.2006 05:50 PM

yes, that was the part i did understand. But is the 2p paralel 8000 or is the 2p 16000.

Yea, the 2P conbine to make 8k. They do have 8ah cells though...

Very cool set-up! Very creative...job well done.

I have to wonder about the durability of your chassis "connections" though. Plexiglas fractures fairly easily when it's part used as a structural member.

Let us know how it holds up! Good luck with it!

neweuser 09.18.2006 04:48 PM

I wanna know if he ran it yet! :)
