Okay, but that might take a while.
|
Why? Plug it in and run it a few feet and see if it works...
|
I still need to solder some connectors in it, Squee.

Well, here's what I have:
I have not tried the 9918, yet, but I tried the truck with the schulze controller one last time with some fixing and so on. Performance is way better now, but still, there is a slight cogging which Mike told me that it can be done with a smaller pinion. Also, do you think that a smalller pinion will be better for the motor and controller? Now that the Slipperentials are around the corner, I believe using a smaller pinion is much better, right? When Promod made his 50mph speed run with the Lehner XL1600 motor, he actually used a 12T pinion with a center diff which has a 51 spur. Well, the 1950/10 is surely much stronger, but the controller wont be able to handle a large, heavy, steel 24T pinion. My pinion is two times as big as Promod's. If he used my pinion with XL1600, I'm sure that motor would not have lasted for long enough. I think I should go for 18-20T pinion to be in the safe zone. |

Your truck seems light. The motor you're using is quite fast, too.
How fast will my truck go, you think? with a 1950/10 and 51/20. |
what truck is it in?

Remember, Tallyrams truck has stock ratio diffs, were as yours as 3.31:1 diffs...
|
What's the gear ratio of his truck?
|
stock maxx and revo diff ratio is 2.85/1! hope this helps.
|
No wonder you're fast.
A center diff or a slipperential will add more speed, right? Or is it just about handling? |
i'm not sure on that one.
|
No....It won't add speed....Just handling...You have to compensate for gearing when you change diffs or whatnot...
|
A center diff will give speed maybe not directly. There is less drivetrain drag with a center diff but not sure how much this helps in speed.
The center diff will give you the ablity to run a very high gear ratio. Much higher than you can get with a trans. Which equals higher speed in low rpm set ups. The best gain with the center diff is it will keep the front wheels on the ground(mostly:027: ). That 1950/10 on 6s is what I would call a low RPM set up and will need a tall gear to get speed. Just keep adding gear to it and watch your temps. If it cogs your pulling the trigger to slow:) . Thank you, Promod |
