He's talking about the end bell. My XXX-T brushless was like that. Had to buy an optional metal end bell to replace the stock plastic one. Can't seem to find a picture of the plastic one online, but here is the optional metal one I bought to replace the stock plastic.

Ah, yes, that explains.. thanks hyper.

endbell of plastic.. that would make sense,

I hate to see plastic on brushless motors. Not great for heat dissapation.

hyperasus 01.14.2007 04:17 PM

The plastic isn't so bad, but the bearing they use with the plastic...wow, it's like they design it to fail within a month. I have 2 of these trucks. First bearing went out so I ordered the metal bell for both. But, somehow when the bearing went and binded the motor it took something else with it. Probably something to do with all those censored wires going in there. Decided I may as well wait for it to fail before replacing the second one as well. That was a mistake. When it went it also took something else with it. So now both systems are in the mail on their way back to Novak for repair. Why am I telling you all this. Just in case any of you ever get one, buy the metal endbell/bearing/rotor upgrade and replace the plastic one ASAP. Don't wait for it to break like I did.

Sorry for the off topic. Figured I may as well say something since it was brought up anyways.

Sorry to hear that you've had so much trouble with them.
Glad you shared with us @ RC-M so we can avoid the same!

hyperasus 01.14.2007 04:30 PM

No worries. Gave me an excuse to put a MM/Lehner combo in it LOL. It's too much though so I'll prob go back to the innocent little novak when I get it back from RMA. These Losi's.......they aint Traxxas. Thats for sure.

GorillaMaxx360 01.14.2007 04:44 PM

They need to make a pro version of the revo with tubes, GTR shocks, and all of those traxxas hopups

You meant this as in Traxxas is better, right? :027:

hyperasus 01.14.2007 04:59 PM

LOL

I'll put it this way. Rusty/pedes break every other time I run them. XXX-T on the other hand...luck to even get a full pack out of it. Real lucky. But hey, just have to look at the bright side. The Losi's may break easily, but at least they are a pain in the ass to work on.

ROFL :005:

So they break easily AND are a pain in the ass to work on? Who would want a Losi? LOL!

Anyways...sounds like someone needs a Revo...

As far as I know, a Revo is the most durable truck made...

Just messin with you......but seriously, I ran my XXT-CR Graphite plus for several seasons with minimal breakage!

jollyjumper 01.14.2007 05:14 PM

That would be cool, but expensive.

GorillaMaxx360 01.14.2007 05:19 PM

mabey cheaper if they droped the motor and stuff and repaced the motor and stuff w/ hopups so it would be about the same maby.
