eh... would like speeds around the 40s.. hmm what would happen if i got the 7700 and like undergeared it when i put the t-maxx paddle tires on it. only time ill ever put paddles on it is when i wanna climb some hills where the sand es extemely soft. main reason i even wanna do this is cause it looks cool. ill probably end up getting the 7700 and just live with the fact that i mnight not be able to put massive t-maxx paddles on it.

I went the 5700 and think it is the best all around system, plenty of speed on low cells and fastest motor according to castle over 60 mph on 3s li-po.

well 60 mph is def good with me lol. ya i guess i dont need to use the massive tires they just look cool
i am going to get my charger tomoroww . a little after xmas afte i buy the bl system i do plan on buying very nice batteries but do you think i should buy a couple of those gp3300s from radio shack for the time being? i have 2 3000(offbrand) and 2 other 1500 offbrand batteries. how much better will the performance be and will i be able to get like a 10 min runtime with the 3300s? thanks! |
o and can the ice charger actually charge 2 batts at the same time? or discharge one while the other is charging?

I think you should get the 4600 and run it on 3s. It should be slightly faster than the 7700 on 2s, despite the rpm difference. When you want to put big tires on your vehicle, just reduce the cell count to 2s or 6 cells nimh so the motor doesn't demand too much power. You can do the same with the 5700 and it will be faster, but you might have to deal with overheating issues. Most people who haven't tried or seen 3s lipo (I'm not saying you haven't) underestimate it's power.

well your correct i havent. i have never even had an electric truck with nice batteries. ive been through this hobby about 5 times in the past 3 years (im 16) i always end up getting rid of my stuff cause i get bored of it but ive never had a good charger/batteries to actually last. so 5700 with like 6 cell gp 3300 from radio shak will be a good choice?
also lmk how those gp 3300s are cause i wanna go buy some today but if there a waste of money then i dont iobvisouly.. thanks guys! |
gp3300 cells from radio shack are gp3300 cells doesn't matter where they are from..they do need to be built into side by side instead of stick packs though..
phil |
wait.. NEED to be built into sbs pack or SHOULD be? i dont really know how to do that. they are just a temp use also..
thanks! |
They should be, since the construction of those packs is cheap. The cells are held together with thin strips of nickel that are welded onto the cells, and they don't conduct electricity too well.

intrested in a mgm60amp brushless esc?
|
FWIW, all my NiMH GP3300 batts are from RadioShack. It's a bit of a PITA to take the crap foil off each cell, rough up the edges, and make SBS packs, but it's worth it considering you can easily pull 100A bursts depending on the setup. The pack is only as good as the weakest link...

alright sweet ima go buy some right now!
thanks guys and no thanks nba gl though! |
just got the ice charger and some gp3300s and im lovin it!! gotta get brushless soon so i dont get bored with this speed! lol
