YOu say your truck is slow.
Do you know what kind of batts you are running?
If you going to buy some cheap batts you not going to be happy with the system.
If you want to go 60 mph and have all this power.
You may consider a hi cell count.
Hi cell count will be alot of weight to land 10ft in air.

revopqrs 01.10.2007 11:54 PM

well right now im running either some 7 cell 1500mah packs i put together, or 6 cell 3000mah for longer run times. i know they arent the best, but im kinda holding off on dumping loot into batts untill i know what kind of motor im going to run.
its been a struggle... do i buy batts first or a motor? if i go brushless lipos could happen i suppose.. or not...
i have no idea!!!
so thats why im here, im hoping the good people of this site can point me in the right direction.:027:
the way my brushless set up was in my mini lst, i expect alot from a system that costs twice as much... ya know what i mean? if i cant get that then i might as well cheap out and get the dual 700 set up... its like $xx(cheap) for everything. but its still kinda slow, not as bad as it is now tho! then i would buy the most battery i could get for the application.
is that logical?

what advise do you have for me? would the brushless set up dominate the dual 700s?
how about packs, will 14 cells do the trick? or will i need lipoly?

jollyjumper 01.11.2007 07:56 AM

14 cells is only 1400 watts, sound to little for what your expecting.

jhautz 01.11.2007 03:34 PM

Just remember.... The core of any good brushless system is batteries that are capable of supplying the power needed. Poor batteries will yeild less than ideal results. Once you choose your motor, buying at least one set of proper batteries should be on your list of must haves.

Decent batteries would be GP3300's or IB3800. (best bang for the $ IMO) Cell count for the packs will depend on your motor choice. Obviuosly Lipo is better, but not necessary. there is alot of other expense assosciated with lipo besides just the packs. You will need a decent lipo charger and cell balancer to go with those packs. Id budget at least $150 minimum for those items alone.

And Yes... A decent brushless system will dominate those dual 700's.

Looking good!

GorillaMaxx360 01.15.2007 12:12 PM

it appears you are missing a screw in the trans case that holds it to the chassis. LOL it does not matter nice truck though like the grey skids are they any stronger than the blacks.

GorillaMaxx360 01.15.2007 02:21 PM

can you take some pics with the batteries removed

revopqrs 01.16.2007 12:27 AM

about the screw missing... i have 6 in it, 8 seems a little over board! im getting short on hex screws... ive switched about 90% of the truck over.
tonight i installed a one way front driveshaft, kinda like the quick turn for the revo. actually its from my revo!!
if ya dont know what it does, it makes you only have rear brakes.. so you can swing the rear out in turns. i ran this one in my revo for a season and im a believer! its like a center diff without the ballooning front tires.:005:
not sure if the maxx guys are using em?
i made mine out of a revo drive shaft and a 1.5 trx one way bearing. its held up to my nova 528xr.:028:

I think squee made a front one-way like yours. If you want real power I would suggest getting a neu 1515 running on 6s lipo. I run a feigao 9xl on 5s lipo and I am faster and have more acceleration than my friends with os .30's ofna .28's ofna .32's and so on...

revopqrs 01.16.2007 01:20 AM

any video by chance?:028:

crazyjr 01.16.2007 02:15 AM

I haven't seen a lot of super powerful vid with Emaxxes, but There was a vid on rcpics of a savage that was real powerful and can give you an idea of how powerful they can be, but its not there anymore. I have a copy in my computer, but don't want to post other peoples stuff without permission. If you want to see the vid PM me your email and i'll send it to you

i wanna see a brushless like that!! low 30s is like 20mph slower than my revo...

ive had 1/18 brushless stuff and it was crazy, am i going to be disappointed with 1/10?

im expecting at least 50mph and soo much acceleration that it flips at nearly any speed, is that unreasonable? its not in nitro land... if it is tell me now, please!! ill go back to my buggy and forget this emaxx thing even happened!! lol..

i hate the thought of spending big money to go brushless to only do a little over 30mph... whats that $10 per 1mph? i need more speed than that! ya cant hardly get any good air under 30... lol..

again... heres where i run, and this is how we do it!!

am i wasting my time with this maxx? would you treat your shiney maxx this way? im tryin to figure out who im talking to... do you guys really bash your high dollar maxxs? little 4-8 foot jumps dont count, im talkin going big!! i know lipos are kinda unstable, thats why i wanted to stick with 14 cells.
honestly i saw a vid with some cheap $20 600 motors and it looked faster than any brushless vids ive seen?
theres that one guy who has a bunch of vids and he uses the dual stick radio... it looks fast, but you can tell hes afraid to break it? he never winds it out so you can see top speed, and he doesnt punish it AT ALL! do these brushless motors break easy?

The tail end of your post sounds like Candyman, that one does have a lot of power.
