GD,
When I was running my T4 with the 7700 on 3S, the esc would shut down, it turned out that it was thermalling, although it didn't feel that hot to me. That's what Castle told me anyway. The MM has no current or rpm limiter built in. As for the wing, I just used the left over lexan from when I did a new body. It actually worked pretty well. You got some pretty good runs there. The only documented speed I have on my T4 is 62 mph. Most other runs were scrapped due to lack of control or crashing. It's hard to control when the tires balloon like that. |
Cool! another vid with a giggling enthusiast on it..
Heeheee! |
Yeah... the kids thought it was funny stuff...
I got the xx buggy fixed up homemade style so it's good to go for another test when I get a chance. It had a broken rear chassis t-plate and tranny case tabs were snapped off. Also it ruined the spur gear... tweaked the motor plate... and scrped the crap out of the top of the car (shocks, nuts, towers, wing) and I had to pop the steering rack back in place (teeth skip somewhere in there) other than that it was all good :) |

thats insane for the cr, mine on 4k's probably hit 35+ maby 40.
nice varial rolls in there! |
Hey... just thought I would mention the battery straps I used in the car... I got them recently from Tanic for $1.99 a pair (clearance I think) They have all kinds of sizes... I just got these to see what they would be like.
Now I would like to get a few more in other sizes. Mine are a bit skinny, but they are one of hte smaller sizes too. Maybe the larger ones are wider... They also have misc. servo plug/wires at great prices... that's what I ordered before. |
Ok... I just ran the car again, with street tires that are a little bit smaller diameter than the slicks. I put a little lexan scoop on the front to help keep it on all fours... no flying this time.
Max speed 74mph on the first pass... fresh battery and cool electrics :D Also backed it up with runs into the wind of 66.6 and with wind of 68.4 Now I need to gear up some more and try again! oh... I got some good video I think too... maybe get it later tonight... |
ok here's the new footage... better video than the first but still not as good as I was hoping for. better editing too.. hope you like acdc :D
I put this one up at a little higher resolution too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QM0Q3tL6U8 there is also a lower res version on my youtube page if you have dial-up oh, as usual it will take a little bit before the video will play.... teaches patience.. or maybe causes rage in some cases *cough*crazyjr*cough* :005: |
ok.. it's live! that was quick....
|
LOL mazda was slower hehe funny man.. and that thing huals SOME CRAZY AZZ
|
yeah my poor car.. hee hee how about the music? I figure everyone has got to dig that :027:
|
Thats pretty insane GD!
Yea...I've seen Jato's out-accelerate Mustang GT's and stuff. All you really have to do is look at power to weight ratio... The average car (say, 120hp honda civic) is about 20 pounds to 1 hp. The right motor in the right R/C car can produce over 1hp per pound peak. 6000watts, which I beleive Serum said that 1950 was capable of, is over 8hp. Thats going into my G2R :D Another thing one must realize is our cars are doing 0 to top speed, while the other car is doing 0 to 70 or whatever. My full scale car does 0-70 pretty damn quick (probably ~6.5 seconds), but it would take me ages to get to the ~160mph top speed. Then again, full size cars have 2-3 gears to get to 70mph...our R/C's have one. |
bp, keep in mind that not many batteries will deliver 6000watts.
on 4s that even impossible i think. even on 6s its a stretch. |
The battery in this car is good for almost 3hp... and the car weighs 3lbs something.... :)
even at 2hp and 4lbs... that is pretty sick.... |
Well, not on anything less than like 8S yea, but even still.
It really doesn't matter to me. All I know is I saw a video of a Revo with a 1930 and it was almost as fast as I want my G2R. I figure the 1950 will have more than I ever need. I'm upgrading from an HV...so its probably going to be like going from a Civic to a M5 :D |
