now that sounds like one of the controllers lutach is working on :)

I second that about doing the legal homework on the name "rx8", it would be a shame to release the ESC and instantly have to take it back off due to name advertising problems. And I also think of receiver when I see rx, just my .02 cents though. I like R8 Pro & R8MT.

Sower, nice to see someone else on here from the Boise area. I am in Kuna, I currently have a 8XL powered E-Maxx but am working on an Ofna 1/8 Buggy conversion. Never been to any of the races but often thought about checking them out!

We'll check up on the legal names, but I don't think it will matter because a brushless controller has nothing to do with 1/1 car.

I'm still going to check though. :intello:

How about you give us some input on the esc?

How did it perform in your truck and buggy?

Any specs?

Right on - that's great! You should definitely stop by the Boise track. PM me if you would like directions.

For anyone else . . . check this link for some photos of Tekin's action at the track this weekend:

Just finished both the Buggy and Truggy today, thanks for the conversion kit Mike, very nice and easy to install! Me Likey!

Painted both a very easy scheme, made the stickers in house (except the 8IGHT ones.) These won't be the last 8IGHTS in the fleet, I can assure you that :D

Look out Nitro burners, we're coming for ya!

Just Mike???

captain harlock 09.12.2007 09:44 AM

What do you mean by just Mike?

gixxer 09.12.2007 09:52 AM

He listed that because tekin has one conversion kit from mike and one from dan at rc product designs.

And Tekin actually has components from both Mike at RC Monster and from RC Prodcut Designs in both vehicles. They mixed and matched our components to get the configuration they needed.

TY@TEAMTEKIN 09.12.2007 10:34 AM

Yes we have both conversion kits interchanged in the two cars to get the right setup.

Sorry Dan! I totally spaced that I had both kits when I posted this thread, my bad man!

glassdoctor 09.12.2007 10:50 AM

It is Mike's forum though ;)

It's cool Ty.
I am just yanking your chain!!!
Mike and I are working together to promote and support this new area of the hobby. It is very exciting and I am glad to be a part of it and I am sure he is too.

How is the progress coming along on the ESC ?.

teamtekin 10.02.2007 11:37 PM

Controllers are working extremely well in their proto forms. We are pretty busy getting all the current new products out the door, but this is top priority for R&D. It takes 10 to 14 weeks to make a housing mold and custom heatsink tooling once we finalize the design. Given the positive results thus far the it looks like we should be able to finish up the design pretty soon.

We hauled them to Vegas last weekend and showed them around at the IIC Touring car race. Stirred up some pretty good interest and opened some eyes to the possibilities.
