serum, I'm just brainstorming, why do you need to flame?

I'd love a little mill like that but I'd want to know how to use it first. I'd have to go do a course first then maybe I'd have some idea of what features the mill would need to be able to make the parts I want. It would be really cool to be able to make my own parts. Damn you Mike.

well i think hes just saying that you have no idea about anything that has to do with a mill so why buy one?

but the only way you can learn is to experiment.

so idk

Think about the tooling you will need for it, might not be as cheap as one would expect all things said and done. Also lord forbid you should have to have it shipped to you...

Also the capacity v.s. cost of producing parts with something like this might make you a few dollars an hour, after you pay for the machine at a few dollars and hour.

Don't forget no working on hardened parts, that takes a precision griner for it, oh yah and theres having things heat treated after you've made them...

Good tool for making "one of those for my car"

i'm sure i could really get into machining. i really like wood working, and i'm always looking for doing something different with my rc's, that usually needs custom parts. i'm not sure it would fit the budget though. we spent alooooot on black friday, and that price with some bits for it and some stock to work with quickly gets expensive. maybe just an ok drillpress and harbors milling clamps for that. it might be good enough for a rookie.

If I won the lotto I would get a couple 5 axis cnc mills a big one and a little one, a bunch of steel, aluminum, titanum and get an expert to live in my garage to show me how to use it
