Yes, its changed
I went this route:
Open water, which let me then get my Dry suit, night diver, underwater navigator & peak performance buoyancy. Learning to hover was a bitch!.: especially in a dry suit!

Adventure Diver which let me get my deep water (I’ve been 120’) its’ fricken cold! LOL..+ plus in so-cal you really don’t see anything .. and I started to nitrogen narcosis so I really don’t go below 100’ anymore.. LOL. I got narc'd when i was doing some recovery on the Spiegel Grove. Its a wreck that sank a day before it was supposto. It flipped upside down and there was a BUNCH of equipment left behind. We went down to salvage some of it for the DEMO crew.

Advanced open water diver which let me get my search and recovery & rescue diver

Now I can go to master scuba (highest level a non pro can achieve) :yipi: or do the divemaster then start teaching emergency first response instructor, etc..

The following certs I don’t have yet but do need to get for my own knowledge is:
Enriched Air, Wreck Diver, Cavern Diver and maybe a Semiclosed Rebreather. There’s these new units out now that are just 6k I’m been looking at but it’s hard to justify for me / to the wife… for what no bubbles hahhaaa..
Enriched air and rebreathers are both the same thing as nitrox.
The cool thing now I can go the sheriff’s and join the volunteer search and rescue team!. I’ve got a buddy who does this Nor-Cal and he loves it!..

Trust me!, I’ve been a DAN member from DAY 1.. I even have their life insurance for 250K just incase something go wrong!.. :oh:

The whole enriched air things scars me a little so I’ve been kind or passing on it. I’ll need to get a new tank, reg & gages.. + I’ve heard horror stories about the gas being mixed wrong from the dive shops and not pretty.. I was trained using the tables and dive planner when I do multiple dives i.e. (first dive is always the deepest), wait an hour, then start over again, etc) as long as keep an eye on my nitrogen level use my dive computer I should be fine!.. at least that what I’ve told.. In our nitrox class we teach how to use an o2 analyser. So you check your mix before you pay for the fills:yes:. But I understand. Anything seems a bit scary (like breathing underwater) until you learn about it.

We should go dive one day!.. That would be cool..
I'd love to! It would give me a reason to use my drysuit again!

Have a great one!..

Shaun.

take care bro!

i must say this thread went in some odd directions when i restarted it from 2005 talking about the weather:lol::lol:. better yet i was asking about rc-monster and firefox browser problems.

well it was a security setting that i don't remember ever switching:whip:

metalallover : opera doesn't work on a lot of sites, buttons would click, but do nothing; their is however, a mouse gestures add-on for firefox that is identical to opera, and i must say thanks for showing me the idea of mouse gestures:yes:

just realized your name was metallover not metalallover (me no read gooder)
and now back to your regularly scheduled program...

 Never thought of it as metalallover...
BUT at the time of conception it was refering to metal music. so..

I never knew you could get an add-on for mouse gestures.... Come to think of it the only reason I use opera is because of the mouse gestures... I'll have to give firefox another try.

I haven't got too many problems with compatibility myself. One website a few weeks ago was just pages of garbled up characters, and I think on the same day the buttons on lightflight rc didn't work. It had a html version though, and even said "if the buttons don't work click here"

+ get color tabs for Firefox good update or... add-on

Metallover 01.28.2009 10:59 PM

Well I am on firefox right now.

I downloaded and installed mouse gestures and it isn't working. I'll try tomorrow, but if I cant get it to work I'm going back to opera. Firefox doesn't seem to be much faster then opera, I'd even say it's slower. I can't switch tabs quite as fast. I'll use it for another week or so if I figure out the mouse gestures then I'll decide if I like opera or firefox more. I really like how opera uses a really small interface at the top. It's simple and very easy to read and navigate.

wow that sounds like a better idea these seem to be random pastel colors (although the update every week it seems ( i do like the function though)

Metallover 01.28.2009 11:09 PM

I think what it is is that on fast computers, Firefox is faster. On older, slower computers, Opera had an edge.
