Looks great. That motor is crazy long!!!!! I would look at finding a way to give it a little support in the back. Take some of the stress of of the motor mount in landing jumps and such.
Cant wait to see that thing run. |
The aluminium used is 7075 t651, I will see in the first test if it's enough strong. The motor's length is about 11 cm
Thanks |
Hardstyle, I have you some pics of your genesis conversion, it seems to be interesting and what is your configuration ? For the batteries, it's not finished yet....
|
It was supposed to run bk12xl motor & bk12020 esc with two 3s2p maxamp lipos in series, if you meant that..
I got it running though, but with very poor success :P, the pinion got stripped pretty fast. The boat motor mount (what I used) arent the best way to mount the motor in a car, that I have learned :D, its nearly impossible to get the right gear mesh between the spurs and pinion. |

Nice work! That is one HUGE motor..
Is the front shaft laying flat or is it at an angle? the cross-pins don't seem to be in line? (looks can be deceiving) an angle might hurt your drivetrain from the inconstant load. |
Thats alot of work man! I thought you were allmost finished at the previous page :D
I know genesis/nemesis isnt easy to convert, its like any part wont go there without modding.. Even its a big car there isnt just enough room in there. Keep it going! That will be a very nice car. Btw have you calculated the speeds on that setup? |

New Project is a 3080 going into that GST.... Gone.. I like what you did dude... looks really awesome... A lot cleaner than mine that's for sure... That motor just looks awesome in there, I could barely fit a 2280 into mine.. So fresh and so clean... Great Work....!! |
Now THAT is what I call a TVP chassis! :mdr:
|
Gone, is that plastic that is sandwiched between 2 plates of aluminum?... My friend had some of that, but I don't know where he bought it.. his brother in-law gave him some... Where'd you get it from?.. those makes awesome battery trays...
|
The chassis isn't finished yet, it will be made in 6061 aluminum, it's only a prototype. The aluminum with plastic between the two plates is called "alucobon" and it comes from here
http://www.timcomposites.fr/produits-alucobond.asp I don't know if you can find it in the United states Thanks for your comments a++ |

OMGOMGOMG, Thats sick! Is that motor mount a little bit twisted or is it just a camera angle?
Make sure you do a video about this beast! |
