That is pretty good serum. It must not been so bad if the mother laughed.
|
No, i've got this labrador retriever look.. Can't do anything about it.. even if i disguised as an Hells Angel, i would still look like a retriever..
|
I think I look more like a big teddy bear. Kids seem to love me. Don't have none either. It is all good though. I think we thread hi jacking. :D I be glad for the gvo to come out.
|
Yeah! me too! it's a great conversion! best and cleanest conversion from nitro to BL i've ever seen..
|
thank you to all for your answers, I will be caught "Novak HV-Maxx Brushless Motor System" I have already a revo and I will be made in more a revo electric for the fun, if you want to look at it here is a forum or I take part in competitions in France

Got my revo roller yesterday! Took the seller 2 weeks to ship after I had to contact him about it and it was poorly packaged, but whatever.
Anyways Mike, I was wondering would it also be possible to use two of the longer center Revo shafts with this chassis? If the lengths are around 86mm and 102mm it seems to me that they would work with only very minor modification. I am sure I will end up with some of your shafts, but it would be nice to use these at first. The about 102mm shaft: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...voparts003.jpg And the 86mm shaft. It could be shortened easly if it is a little to long, but it seems to work nicely: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...voparts004.jpg I understand the lengths with this type of shaft might be slightly different and I just guessed where the dogbones might be since that is where you siad the measurments where from. Anything in the 102 and 86mm ballpark would seem to work. Is there somthing I am missing? Also the shafts fit great on the e-maxx tranny output shaft with only a little removel of materal. |
Mid NOvermber huh? My b-day is in the beggining of november. HOw about a late b-day present mike? lol, if any1 is interested, i got a revo that i'll trade for a BL system!
Mike, what about a one-way drive shaft? Best thing to be invented for anY MT. Much better turning! |

But again I dont have one of these chassis, so the only one that can say the stock shaft could work is Mike or GorrilaMaxx. Sure would be nice though. |
Course, quickturn concept is pattened and be illegal to copy! but we can keep it on teh DOWN LOW! lol
|

Although the design is pattened not the concept of a oneway shaft. And there many ways to do a one way shaft that would not mess with there patent. Theres actually another company that produces one way shafts for the revo, but there on the wheel shafts. Something like wings or something? So now that I think about it if those are on the front wheel shafts you can use those just fine with this chassis and not have to modify anything. |
really? never woulda thought of that. Well, i think dafni told me how to do convert regular one with a OWB and stuff. maybe it'll work with g-maxx dirve shafts.
|
Yeah, Daniel did some tinkering on the stock shafts, with a OWB.
|
Yeah, and it works like a charm!
But I don't show it in puplic, I'm afraid they sue me ;) :L: Stupid lawyers:p |
I won't sue you mate..
I wondered why you didn't made an how-to on rc-monster, i guess i know the answer now... :p |
Seriously, I just never thought it's that important. I just made it. I made some center shafts for my Revo at that time, and had the things lying around anyway.
But if somebody is interested, I gladly do a write up. I never thought about patent troubles, either. My vote goes to centerdiff, though;) |
i race my revo and a oneway would be a great help. dafni, you mind doing a writeup for me?
|
Okay. I have some pics on my computer at work. Will do it tomorrow.
|
then the project before always?? I am more than hot still not date more precise??
|
Hey! no1 can sue u cuz ur in a foreign country! RD is in america i think....Well anyway! U can bootleg it without any worries!

Hello all,
A friend sent me a link to a pic of the revo conversion and I then found the gorillamaxx website and this forum. First off let me say that thing is totaly sweet! I'll have one ordered as soon as it's available. I've wanted to build an electirc powered REVO (or "EVO" as I like to call it) ever since I first saw the revo. That chassis is gonna make it realy easy :D. I'm a machinist but my time is prety limited. I'm usualy lucky if I get all my stuff preped for the next race before I head out. Finding time to design and build a chassis was the only thing stoping me from doing an EVO. Now all it's gonna take is a phone call and the ol' Visa card. :L: :L: L8r |
Welcome to the forums, Extreme! The G-maxx conversion will be available in a couple short weeks, so you found the site just in time! I will have the needed parts in case you don't have a truck to start with as well. There is quite a bit of info around the forums, for this vehicle, but for r/c in general as well. Please, look around and enjoy yourself.
|
mike I hope that the kit will be available before Christmas these are the small gifts, the ideal for me which am in France would be December at the beginning of more not if not I nothing will have under my small fir tree

I race in the Norhwest and run in the Nortwest Championship Tour (NCT) every year. I'm currently running an LST (mostly cuz I'm brand loyal to LOSI). I just can't quite keep up with the Revo's. I run on a regular bassis with the guys from Maximizer and RD Racing products, they have some wicked fast Revos. My plan for the 2006 NCT is to build an EVO and run it on the NCT. The rules for the NCT allow electic and nitro to run together in the MT class. In a 30 minute a main you have to pit once with an electric and 3 times with nitro. I've always thought it would be an advantage to run and elecric MT vs. a nitro, but no one up here has done it yet. I figure with a brushless setup and some 8000 mAh LiPo's I can make a 30 minute A main and only have to come into the pits once for a stop and go to count as my one required pit stop. On the website it says Carbon Fiber version will be availalbe in 2006. I realy want the CF version but don't want to wait. If I get the aluminum version as soon as it's available, how much do you think it would cost to upgrade to the CF parts when they come out? I'll have to get on the Brushless thread and figure out a good setup for my EVO. Thanks again. |
well it think it would cost about 150-ish depending on what they leave aluminum. skids, ect. if your gonna make one from scratch you might want to start a thread and we can help you get a parts list together. also, what did you have in mind for lipo? 5S? 6S? and what kinda price range you got for a motor. for a cheaper but high quality, reliable motor i would go with the feigao xl. 7, or 8 probable. or if you would spend more i would go with a lehner 1930 with segmented magnets. there smoother and more efficient.
|
I would not recommend the 7xl because of run time. You get the g2r kit and swap out the bottom plate to cf. You can get these seperate from gorrilla. A 9xl with the 8000 should make it the end and have some juice left. good luck
|
Squee's estimate should be pretty close to upgrade to CF. Maybe even a little high. Basically, the 4 upper plates and the lower plate are the CF parts to be switched out.
|
mike, whats your price on a lehner 1930?
|
1930 motors are about $250. I have the 1930/8 in my G2R and love it. Runs like a champ!
|
are they that much better than a 7 or 8xl?
|
Hey Mike. Were you running 4s or 5s on your motor
|
Where can i pre-order one of these
Hey guys..saw a post a few pages back...that someone pre-ordered one of these.
If there is a site that has these for pre-order or if i can pre-order from gorillamxx then let me know. thank you for your time. |
Welcome to the RCM forum, sepukku!
You just found the right site! Mike is a Gorilla dealer, and he will get the g2r as soon as it gets available. Just shoot him an e-mail, and he will put you on the list. He can also get you everything else you'll need to complete the truck. Crazyjr, Mike told me he runs 5S thru his 1930/8. |
Welcome to the forums, Sepukka. :)
These kits will be ready in about a week, so really no need for a pre order at this point. I should have the front and rear assemblies by Monday or Tuesday as well, along with the custom length drive shafts(which are needed). Motor/controllers will also be along about the same time, so the wait is ALMOST over! Crazyjr - the 1930/8 runs great on 4s or 5s lipo, actually. It is a touch larger than the "s" feigao motors - smaller than the "L". For its size, it is an amazing motor. |
thanx for the info
Thanx guys...
i really need to get this chassis from you folks..as although i know these things were designed for electric. i will be taking your kit that converts the revo to electric and then convert it back to nitro.. kinda weird..but your chassis seems like the only solution left. the factory chassis is made to leave room for profit generating breakage for the manufacturer... the other brands that i will not mention are just not engineered correctly. then we have you folks.....work of art..and function. your design should eliminate all issues with the other chassis. i just can't wait to get my hands on this... |
Now that is interesting! A nitro to electric conversion that is converted back to nitro! Sounds pretty neat! I hipe you will post some pictures of the finished product!
|
Me, too, would like to see your finished project.
I have also thought about a truggy conversion (center diff / dual brakes) useing the x-brace chassis. But since I'm a dedicated electric nut, this was only daydreaming. |
Hey Mike, would the 1930/8 be a better setup than a 9xl with a 4s lipo setup. Could it be used with a 9920 controler?
|
Define "better", I guess. Either combo would be killer and they both would be perfectly fine with the 9920. My guess is the Lehner would give a longer runtime and a slightly quicker acceleration, but the 9xl would be sweet for a heavy truck. If the rtr vehicle is under 10 pounds, I would take the 1930 any day.
