No, MIP cvd's are better.. (i would personally keep the stock drivetrain till it breaks, the black bones seemed to be better than the silver heavy duty types. Those HD's are familiar from snapping directly at the end of the bone..
The ebay link doesn't work though. |
Everything i want only ships to US, Mike can you get any of these things?
No problem on the link, it is US only, i will just keep it like you said. i just want everything here for when i get the motor. I am just going to buy wheels and tires |
It is probably logged in your cookies, doesn't work here.. it probably won't work from another computer in the US as well
Mike can get you all the things you need.. just pop him an email |
Do you think i should just buy the motor mount and battery trays and eventually make my own if i want too? or should i wait for probably over 3 weeks before they are done? i guess i have to wait for the controller anyways though, i will see how much they are to make? i am going to shoot mike an email
|
Just get the 7XL and see what you need to do for the motormount! if you don't have got the option of making the motorplate, buy the set..
|
Toby just let me know if you have someone to fabricate the motor mount for you. Im also looking for someone to fabricate it for me. Im not a good machinist and I dont really have an appropriate tools to do that.
|
I have someone to make them but liek i said my dad is gone for two weeks.
Serum, what motor mount do you run now? i do not think i saw an updated photo of it, (unless i forget) |

This is his new custom motor mount. A piece of art!!
By the way toby, here are you from? |
serum, i dont see why you dont run the 9920 with the pletty. its good for up to 50,000 rpms with a 4 pole motor.
|
I think he sold them both, but i see your point.I think the shulze is only rated for 97amps and about 60,000 rpm with a 4 pole.Plus the warriors seem fairly robust.
Not sure i'd like to be the one to try it though given that motors appetite for controllers:L: . I thought Serum has the motor lower now, beneath the spur. |
i ordered the motor today.
i ordered a radio box i have ordered FLM tvps Serum thanks for your help so far man, same to you dafni. i have not had much luck sellign anything yet though. i need some funds. i am going to experiment with the motor mount for a while and probably make a few. I need a gp 3300 cell just a single to make a battery tray and my LHS does not have any. If anyone can send me one, rather it dead or not, i will pay for it. |
If you have got the sizes, you could make one from wrapped paper.. 42 x 22 mm these are the sizes, you need to know that the connection bars must be added as well.
Why did you ordered a radio box? you had one? (just curious) i heard FLM is making a LowCG tvp as well.. i like their tvp's they are BEEFY! |
would 16 cells that are matched make it wheelie on command? should i look into the three speed as well? Well i made 35 dollars so far. YAY.
Does anyone know where i can get some silver skids. rather it be ti or aluminum? i need them to go with the theme. i sold my purple ones |
honestly to save money you should have kept them and stripped the anodizing off and polished them or put a brushed finish on them.
|
how do you remove anodzie. i have not quite sold them, i do not have the money yet.
|
here you go, you searchbutton freak... ;)
|
thanks serum. I have been called Worse LOL.
|
Here a how-to I did on removing anodization http://www.rcbros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=801
|
thanks. i am going to try it this coming weekend. It will work good. for my fegaio i might put a carbon fiber sticker around it. i have seen it on a mamba and it looked good
|
I'd highly highly be careful removing it from the feigao. I did it to mine and thought I was safe. But turns out some got inside and melted the glue and ruined the motor.
|
i am doing it to my skids like the one guy suggested to save me money. i need to spend money on something else. I am going to buy the spektrum radio once i sell my lynx 3d and some other stuff.
|
When i sell the powerstrokes or wasp .28 or both i am going to buy the controller.
These are two questions that i would like to be answered Should i get the spektrum radio if i am not racin? should i get a 3 speed I also found really really beefy dogbones for the driveshaft. they were 40 dollars though. here is the link http://www.rcalloys.com/pricelist/pricelistsavage.html |
first i know i am not suppose to triple post and i apologize.
I wanted to edit a post but it did not let me do it cause i am too late so please do not get mad. I sold 77 dollars worth of stuff so i am making money for my controller. once i buy that than i am set to start everything. Can someone please answer my last questions? Also- i just started thinking, i am not to smart with electric stuff. How does break reverse and all of that work? will i not have reverse? or only forward? |
I think the 3 speed was for nitro and uses the clutch bell. If you have away to hook this up on the electric is the question. If you run the two speed. I would guess you won't have reverse. Unless you hook the reverse shifter up and run it like the nitro. If you know what I;m talking about.
|
o i forgot the savage does not have reverse
|
Its not only the savage, most of the nitor tranny dont have reverse.
|
I think on the Savage it has a single spur and shifts internally.
but yes you'd need mechanical reverse and brakes. I thought there was a reverse module you could add to the savage. |
this is a whole new thing now. i do not know how to hook up brakes. i do not need brakes right a way though but i will by after winter time
|
The brakes would just be the same as they are as a nitro. It's just if you want to have a multi speed tranny it needs a one way bearing so you can't apply a force on the shaft in the opposite direction for reverse or braking like you normally would with the solid shaft/no one way bearing on an electric.
|
is it easier to lock out first than?
|
I think Serum is the best person for this, but i'm sure it's easy to fit a locked shaft. You really only need one gear with brushless because they have so much torque you can effectively drive it in top gear all the time.
If you did want 2 or 3 speed (which i'd say you don't really need) you need to think of the motor just doing the same as your nitro motor.so you'd need a servo for braking and a servo for reverse(if you have reverse). |
You really don't need a two speed actually, its just for the extra punch.. So a 3 speed is complete nonsence to me.. ;)
You could use it though, you won't need a clutchbell.. Just get the heavy duty 2nd speed gears and you should be fine.. You do need the mechanical brake with both gearboxes. I thought you allready knew, that in the conversion kit is a special shaft, that replaces the 2speed and locks it in 1st speed..? (we discussed this earlier) |
hmm, i must of completley forgot. i am going to tanke anodizing off tonight though. So in the conversion it has it but i am not using the conversion. i am making my own. Than what do i do?
|
ok, so far i have thought of this. i am just going to lock it out so i do not need a break servo.
SHould i go matched cells? or just normal gp3300? Also, are the batteries held in by just strong velcro? |
i would get the matched ibc 3800s from mike. there about 35 a pack if memory serves correct.
|
what should the savage be geared at so i can order the proper spur?
|
how much cells and are you going to use the two speed transmission/mechanical brake? or the single speed fixed shaft?
|
16 cells with mechanical break and two speed i was thinking.
