drive it into a wall and tell us how it holds up :P

coolhandcountry 12.10.2005 06:38 PM

Will a tree work. They seem to have a bad habit of jumping in front of me. :D The way the chassis built I wonder if it would knock it down. :D

Basketti 12.10.2005 06:41 PM

got some pics with batterys on it? hows the build up coming?

coolhandcountry 12.11.2005 08:37 AM

I don't have a front skid for it. I had to rob it for another project. I try to get a pic with batts on it. I want to get a test run to.

captain harlock 12.11.2005 06:23 PM

Cool, how did you find the weight of the whole truck after putting the FLM chassis?

coolhandcountry 12.11.2005 09:24 PM

here is a pic of it with batts on it.It is not clean cause of test run. :D

jocktheglide 12.11.2005 09:27 PM

man dude 16 cells what a beast....

rchippie 12.11.2005 09:36 PM

Cool that truck looks huge.

Are those shocks the UE super shocks or are they the ofna 9.5 short buggy shocks ?.

coolhandcountry 12.11.2005 09:39 PM

It is the same length as a extended gmaxx. Yes it is fairly big. I just weighed it to. 11.5 lbs is what the scale said. I got 20 min run time withthis truck like it sets. :D I love brushless

They are ue hippie. They are longer than they look in pic.

nbcaznmaster 12.11.2005 09:42 PM

dont we all! lol

Mine weighs 11.5lbs too:

RPM arms/towers
FLM Bulks
MSR5 Integy Shocks (8)
40 Series Velocity/Boeties
7XL/9920
Gorilla G1, chassis!

So thats really good, can you do more pictures of the side/underneath?

Basketti 12.12.2005 10:53 PM

WOOHOO i just got mine in the mail, im gonna go put it together :)

Basketti 12.13.2005 12:12 AM

just came across my first problem. The holes for the screws that hold the shifting servo are backwards, so i have to screw a screw from the bottom of the chassis through to the top then use a nut to hold down the servo, same with the reciever. its not really a problem lol. the chassis is so shinny :)

VWT4 12.15.2005 06:28 AM

Is it possible to fit four 6 or 7 cells batteries packs in it?

Basketti 12.15.2005 06:32 AM

your supposed to be able to, two on the top of the chassis and two on the bottom. They would have to be side by side packs though.

captain harlock 12.15.2005 07:18 AM

Hey, guys. The hybrid bulks, do the front and back bulks come together for $150 or is the price for one bulk only?

Basketti 12.15.2005 07:23 AM

They come together for $150

captain harlock 12.15.2005 07:25 AM

Great. So I'm proceeding just fine.

coolhandcountry 12.23.2005 05:06 PM

I like to know what people are doing on the new flm chassis to insulate the batteries from the chassis.

Nick 12.23.2005 05:59 PM

Coolhand - what do you think of the new FLM chassis? Compared to a Gorilla maybe?

I heard they are weak, can you confirm.

coolhandcountry 12.23.2005 06:42 PM

what is weak the flm or gorilla? To me I think it is stronger than the gorilla. You can not bend the bare chassis plate with out the braces. I like some of the features. I not crazy about the battery hold downs and such. I think it could be better designed when it come to that. It is a good chassis over all. It has not bent nothing but bumper when I hit a house. :D

captain harlock 12.23.2005 08:33 PM

You can actually insulate the batteries by using heat shrink tubing on each cell. This way you will keep the chassis looking good and avoid shortening as well.

HB maxx 12.28.2005 04:59 PM

I got my FLM chassis yesterday. :-)
very COOL
I think the straps work pretty fine.
here are some pics.

Nick 12.28.2005 05:03 PM

Looks good but those straps just look awful.

Is there no way of fixing Gorilla straps on? I see a hole at the end of the battery, can't you just put a bolt/nut in there fastening the Gorilla strap on?

HB maxx 12.28.2005 05:08 PM

The gorilla straps will fit perfect.
only, i have none :-(
i'm working on custom made battery mounts.
look a little like those aluminium ones that will come out soon.
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/atta...=&postid=26225
only not so cool :-).

Basketti 12.28.2005 06:21 PM

i use the gorilla maxx straps and the stock straps together, holds the batteries on really well!

HB maxx 12.28.2005 06:41 PM

but if you use both the straps.
they still look awfull.

Nick 12.28.2005 06:45 PM

Whats the weight difference between G2 (allu') and the FLM?

HB maxx 12.28.2005 06:48 PM

thats 2oz i believe.
it is mentioned somewhere in this tread.

HB maxx 12.28.2005 06:49 PM

Those pics are the final version, Coolhand. I just got the pics. I weighed the chassis, but I forgot the weight! I think it was around 10oz(about 2 or 3 oz heavier than the g-maxx aluminum chassis for comparison).
:)

I dont care what my batteries look like as long as they stay on my truck lol. :L:

Nick 12.28.2005 06:53 PM

Really tempted with this chassis. :o

HB maxx 12.28.2005 07:03 PM

I got 3 straps of the same length.
and one that was 1-2 inc longer??
is that normal?

coolhandcountry 12.28.2005 07:29 PM

Well nick I have both gmaxx aluminum and flm. I like features of both. I like somethings of one over the other. I think the chassis supposed to be like a couple oz heavier. The g2 supposed to weigh same as stock plastic.

mmdooley 12.28.2005 07:44 PM

Hey HB, I got the same straps and I can't see any way they will work and look good at the same time. So I am going to get the new alumanim ones when Mike gets them in stock.

Nick 12.28.2005 07:52 PM

Why can't use the Gorilla straps? This is what I don't understand. Do the G3 straps not fit properly?

coolhandcountry 12.28.2005 09:26 PM

I am running the g2 straps on mine. They don't fit perfect but do fit

Yeah same, i have no idea why one is longer lol. I wish FLM stuff came with some sort of instructions, even if its real basic.

Nick 12.29.2005 06:48 AM

Yeh, most of FLM products (in fact I've only seen FLM products) on the internet. Won't cost them anything to e-mail people instructions or at least have a page on their site.
