wow, Im am surprized at that gearing. I tried 15/54 with a 2200kv motor on 5s and it was slower than a stock rustler I felt...I went to 17/54 and it was decent, with the motor getting hot. I went to 15/43 and it was on par with power, didnt get to run it enough to see any heat issues though.

jhautz 11.16.2008 05:38 PM

the 16/54 is a little on the conservative side, but for the track you really aren't gonna use much more than that unless its a really big track. I usually run a setup geared for around 38mph for racing duty. I think his gearing comes out to 36-37mph so thats not really very far off from what I find to be good.

His truggy doesn't look slow on the track.

something is wrong somewhere in your setup. according to the gearing chart your geared to about 56-57 mph mine heared for 38 still pulls on the nitro's down the straight. not by much but by just enough to give me the edge.

cheesecake what kind of run time do you get out of those zippy 5s 5000 mah

cheesecake 11.25.2008 03:17 PM

in truggy i was just over 15 minutes but im not a smooth electric driver yet im still very hard on the throttle. you should be able to get about 16-17 minutes i know jhautz in his buggy got about 24 before he dumped

jhautz 11.25.2008 04:11 PM

In my truggy that 5s 5000 packs is good for around 18 minutes. Cheesecake just has a happy trigger finger and he likes to see the rooster tails.
