Yep $425 new- http://www.teamdelta.com/products/prod5c.htm

killajb 09.16.2008 12:31 PM

The controller was in "MGM" territory as well..

lydiasdad 09.17.2008 12:02 AM

if your going with a brushed motor you can use these controllers. http://www.robotcombat.com/products/...ntrollers.html

I have the thor, it's a good controller. I used it because I needed proportional brakes. But if your using mech brakes you don't need a "spin" controller.

Takedown 09.17.2008 08:01 AM

I think I have my mind set on the Rc Hydros Victory 10-32 ESC. Only $98.

Takedown 09.18.2008 07:51 AM

Ive still got to get ahold of deisel aka "BL_RV0" to see if he has shipped the motor out yet. Ill let you guys know...

Takedown 09.18.2008 09:38 PM

Just found this 60v 60a ESC- http://www.astroflight.com/index.php...products_id=91

If I could get two of those and run them in parallel on 36v or possibly 48v possibilities would be endless.

Takedown 09.18.2008 09:46 PM

The thig is I dont know if my motor will pull 60a cont... Im doubting it but its the heat im worried about. Maybe a few fans will do the job.

Pedebeater 09.18.2008 09:47 PM

Looks killer dude! Can't wait to see this thing shred!

Takedown 09.18.2008 09:55 PM

Thanks PB. I cant wait for the I-Hobby expo this year. Its going to be amazing with all the new products that are coming out.

Takedown 09.22.2008 08:03 AM

Hey guys good news. Decided to keep the 1/5 because I'd regret getting rid of it for sure. The motor hopefully will be sent out today by the looks of it. Ill let you guys know...

What's_nitro? 09.22.2008 09:19 PM

Cool. I was hoping you'd keep it. There aren't too many 1/5 conversions out there.

Takedown 09.22.2008 09:32 PM

Yeah, I thought about it for awhile. After thinking it came to me that I'd be just dumb to sell it.

Takedown 09.23.2008 12:07 PM

Well BL_RV0 backed out of selling the motor to me. So Ive resorted to a little more powerful 24v 400w motor- http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/24vo400wamow.html

It will put me back a bit but the project will still get finished.

BL_RV0 09.23.2008 11:15 PM

I didn't back out, I was forced not to sell it.

Takedown 09.24.2008 07:41 AM

Yes, you had to back out. Im not trying to make you look bad deisel. Im was just saying you backed out because you could not sell it.

Takedown 09.25.2008 07:45 AM

Ok guys, heres what Ive decided on. I changed my mind on what ESC I plan to run. I am looking into the CC HV85 and the HV110. I really need your guys's help to find me a used one for around $120 or so.

brushlessboy16 09.25.2008 07:57 AM

Will have an eye out

and you just got your old warhead back!

I take back my earlier comments takedown, you change your mind more than a woman and must be some kind of new breed of human that has XY chromosomes and then the several layers of female DNA mixed in..........

lincpimp 10.06.2008 12:00 AM

This is a very long-winded build thread...

e-rev project 10.06.2008 12:37 AM

i never thought a RCM thread could have this much drama, except that girlfriend one a couple months ago :0 :)

TDC57 10.06.2008 01:45 AM

This would make one hell of a "battel truck" Takedown...

Think about it..:intello:

SV6000 10.06.2008 05:27 AM

Hey i know his name is taboo around here but there is a Baja 5B brushless setup for sale from finedesignrc.com I am not saying that you have to buy it but at least look at how someone else has done it and what they have used and use that to get some ideas and how to mount it.

Takedown 10.06.2008 04:41 PM

It will be a peice of cake to mount the motor. Im ordering a 3in x 3in x 4in peice of T6-6061 high grade aluminum soon off ebay for $8. I will then make the mount out of that. I have no idea when Ill be able to order the ESC but the batts, pinions and chain should be ordered here soon aswell.

I wouldn't say taboo as much as it is that he has done bad business with too many people in the past and charges way too much for his product. He has also not been very truthful or forthcoming in many areas.

Takedown 10.06.2008 08:59 PM

Not to fond with FD's service...

Takedown 10.12.2008 03:05 PM

Ok guys heres a long awaited update...

I might be going lipo with this project afterall- http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0C_Lipoly_Pack

I also got the motor put back toghther and installed onto my custom mount. Pics will be up later today.

BL_RV0 10.12.2008 04:02 PM

Lipo, yay! I'm assuming you're ordering 4 packs for a 10s 9800mah setup? 5s 9800mah or 10s 4900mah won't be enough in either configuration for that large/heavy of a truck...

Takedown 10.12.2008 05:39 PM

Actually the 10s 4900mah setup will be plenty... Higher voltage ussually means less current draw so it will be fine.

Here are some pics of the motor mounted...

Takedown 10.12.2008 05:40 PM

I will also be installing 2 more mounts of the same specs on the rear end of the can to keep it from swaying.

brushlessboy16 10.12.2008 05:41 PM

Looks good takedown i still think belt drive to the center drive would be better then chain..

Takedown 10.12.2008 05:44 PM

Im afraid of belt drive. Ive seen them snap on scooters quite often. The reason I want to use chain is because I can get the very small beads and not take up space but yet have a very strong connection between the pinion and the center diff. And their is less room for meshing error with using chain. If you mess up the meshing on a belt you could strip the belt.

Krawlin 10.12.2008 05:50 PM

1 word can describe that.

Beastly.

Looks awesome Ryan, should be one hell of a truck.

As far as belt vs. chain, I have to agree with Ryan, the chain would be better, would have a far more solid/crisp throttle feel than a belt, and would be stronger. And as the chain stretched, you could take links out as needed. Cant do that with a belt. Good luck, should turn out awesome.
