Can the 6mm paintballs be used in a 6mm airsoft gun? Just curious because if so I think these RC tanks with airsoft guns and paintballs would be a blast.

Forward progress is being made…
Lets start off with this picture, it works on so many different levels.. LOL http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3546.jpg Here are some pictures of what I'm starting with and what I'm soon mod.. “mad scientists” howl here LOL.LOL http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3547.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3548.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3549.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3550.jpg Ok lets see now that the guns fully together what does it weigh ?? OOhh it weights in at 2 lb 4.2 ounces (not bad) but I think we can better.. let see http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3551.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3553.jpg Ok here we have the main gun assembly, disassembled with all stock parts http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...IMG_3554-1.jpg |
Getting into the guts of the gun.
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3555.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3556.jpg Showing the (bottom LINE) here is what it’s all about, this photo shows the firing mechanism (small slated sliver piece on the left and the selector switch (Blue button) (semi and auto) I just love this stuff, when you brake it down to it’s simplification form it’s not really that hard to get it wrong.. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3558.jpg Here we have the grip (stock / before) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3559.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3561.jpg OOhhh that hast to hurt.. LOL.LOL (IE) what is this bozo doing ??? HHHHaaaaa http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3562.jpg Ok it’s time to do some actually figuring now, (I knew I shouldn’t have had that third screw driver!) although I think it’s still looking good at this point and it’s time to decide Too cut or not to cut “that is the question” LOL.LOL Sorry I’ve had a few at this point.. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3564.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3565.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3568.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3570.jpg |
Ok, now that I’ve found the basic location within the Truggy it’s time to complete the gun mods. Here is what I'm starting with at this point.
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3571.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3572.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3573.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3574.jpg WOW that’s cool and went together nice, what does it weigh at this point and how does it fit on the Truggy ??? lets find out LOL.LOL (sorry still drinking at this point) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3580.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3582.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3583.jpg WOW it’s only 1 lb 10.2 oz fully read to fire.. HHHHmm the stock system weighed in at 2lb 4.2 oz and the mod weighs in at 1 lb 10.2 oz… (this is where you need to ask yourself) is it worth it to destroy / MOD a $175 gun to save 20 oz ?? .. Me this is life of the unknown, YOU now with this knowledge make the call.. (I'm such a giver you lucky bastards) LOL.LOL http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3578.jpg |
Just and FYI ( you benefit from my learning / cost experience here).. these photos show the weight difference between the 9mm and the 4.5mm bottles.. I wasted money but who know ???.. Now you do and don’t do what it did.. Get the 9mm bottle..
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3576.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3577.jpg Lessened learned… the short stem system does not work (GRRRR) so needed to re- install the flex system.. this works great within the Truggy and still allows it to stand upwards.. (go me, go me, go me)… LOLLOLLOL… Sorry still drinking.. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3572.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3573.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3574.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3578.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3579.jpg Ok here we have my (heavily modified XT8) LOL.LOL with 4s weighing in at a ginger 9lb 6.4oz http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3580.jpg Add on the modified gun and CO cartage to the Truggy and we at a total weight of 12lb 6.2oz (not including the hopper or paint balls) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3582.jpg Stay tuned or please come back for the continuing saga of the battle Truck IE (can this bozo actually pull it off).. LOL.LOL.. Next update will include such pictures as mounting this bad boy to the Truggy, installing a servo to controller the trigger mechanism and first Video of it test run.. Have a great one guys and thanks for your time |
Too cool. I was going to ask what you were doing up so late. All our friends on the east cost are going to be getting up soon. Now I see what has kept the mad scientest at his lab so late. Nice work.

I'm waiting for the next update!! :) |
TD this is by far the oddest but coolest thing i have seen. Good luck with the project i will be watching in excitement.
|
hey shaun ive been playing paintball for about 5 years now and it is crazy to see this thing inside of an RC car!
my 2 favorite hobbies being combined into one!!:lol: couple things i want to mention. 1. C02 is not the best for that type of gun especially if you plan on using full auto. it should not ruin anything but you may blow hoses due to the freezing c02. 2. the hopper you got may not be able to keep up with the gun so make sure you keep the eyes on your gun ON or it may start to chop balls in the barrel. which will result in you having no aim and may hit things that you did not intend on hitting:gasp::surprised: 3. this is one AWSOME project!! if you have any troubles with the paintball gun hit me up. i should be able to help you out! good luck man! |
Man this is a cool project. What are you using to secure the gun and tank?
|
Thanks for the comments guys..
I’ve got questions paintball questions • Can you please look at these shoots and then try your best to answer the following questions: • Will this bottle setup work ??, I basically removed everything down to as far as it goes and I'm doing a direct connect now. • Do I need to worry about any air reducers, diaphragm or what not’s ?? • Where can I buy this small black house ?? if I extend it will have a negative effect one the gun ?? • I'm thinking about just permanently locking the trigger switch on the main circuit board and running the it’s power supply to my 3rd channel on my RX (that way in theory) I just need to hit my 3rd switch and it goes live and starts shooting (???) • let’s talk hopers shall we.. Do I want to use just a gravity feed one or the one I have ? • I’ve gone to several paint stores but I couldn’t find a smaller one (is there on • out that holds like 50-75 shoots in lue of 200 ?? • will my 9mm bottle get things cold with this setup (?) if so what insulation should I use to protect what little hose I have • Any ideas on what to use the cover / protect the curict board, you’ll notice that I have elevated above the Truggy drivetrain so I'm good there but I need to cover / protect the boards from dirt and bashing.. More questions to come.. Thanks in advance for your time.. Shaun. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3585.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3586.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3587.jpg Dry fit in the Truggy.. Dam this fits great!!! http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3588.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3589.jpg Look at the clearance I have, but how do cover / protect the board http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3590.jpg Ok this is basicly where I whant it, I just need to extend the small black hose (bottle to gun / curict board) but can I, and where can I get the hose ??? http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3591.jpg Last questions. Will I ever get rid of my headache (ooooowwwwww) my head still hurts from all the K1.. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3592.jpg |

hopefully some of these answers are what your looking for! |
That’s GREAT INFORMATION THANK YOU!!!

What the hell is this and do I need it ?? http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3593.jpg So if I go back to the setup I’ll be fine because the regulator in the handle right ?? http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3594.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_3595.jpg Can I still extend the small black hose like 10” ????
