toby 02.20.2005 03:18 PM

you guys have been a real help for me

RC-Monster Mike 02.20.2005 03:21 PM

If I may speak for the other board members: It has been our Pleasure! Glad we could help!

toby 02.20.2005 03:22 PM

i have one question.. where the batteries go i like the black? can i do that?

RC-Monster Mike 02.20.2005 03:26 PM

If I understood your question, you would like to know how the aluminum chassis is black where the batteries go? If this is what you mean, the chassis kits now come with a die cut foam pad that sticks to the aluminum (or CF) at the battery locations. These help hole the cells, and protect them from damage.

toby 02.20.2005 03:27 PM

o okay.. you can expect my order with a month or two

toby 02.20.2005 05:04 PM

i just noticed that to buy a BL motor the price isn't bad but the controller is a lot

rc4x4nut 02.20.2005 05:06 PM

Just like a normal brushed setup.

toby 02.20.2005 05:09 PM

o okay.. would you buy (after the truck) which batteries ( i know the charger.. thanks) tires and wheels and powerstrokes or no tires and wheels and go to the chasis?

rc4x4nut 02.20.2005 05:16 PM

Batteries go with the GP3300 or they have a new GP3600 either out already or coming soon. The stock tires and rims are awesome for bashing. Go with the chassis to lower the CoG.

toby 02.20.2005 05:25 PM

so get the chasis before suspension?

RC-Monster Mike 02.20.2005 05:33 PM

I will have the new Intellect 3600s in stock next week. They are priced a little lower than the gps, but are comparable in performance. The "best" of the 3600s have higher voltage than the gps!

toby 02.20.2005 05:49 PM

okay

rc4x4nut 02.20.2005 06:59 PM

I would do chassis first.

The chassis was my first upgrade as well.

toby 02.20.2005 08:07 PM

okay guys.. i will do it.. chasis.. :D :D... is it hard to transfere all the stuff from one chasis to another?

toby 02.20.2005 08:18 PM

what about the motr called a pletenburg (sp)

MaxxFusion 02.20.2005 08:28 PM

No its easy to do. If you are keeping your front and rear ends in tact for now its just 4 screws if I remember correctly to remove each bulk.

That is a great motor from what I hear but is very expensive. The 9L is more than enough IMO.

toby 02.20.2005 08:31 PM

okaythanks man... i am going to order teh chasis soon

rc4x4nut 02.20.2005 08:32 PM

Swapping over is real easy.

The plettenberg is very expensive. For the price of the motor alone you can get a whole setup from Mike. 299 is the cheapest I have seen the Big Maxximum.

toby 02.20.2005 08:33 PM

dang you guys reply quick that is amazing

guys i decided once i get my emaxx i am going to go staright for the chasis and i think a BL system instead of chasis and tires and shocks and all that stuff.. what do you think? i am buying everything from this store so what do you think i should buy to make my truck lean and mean?

rc4x4nut 02.26.2005 12:28 PM

If I remember correctly you wanted this to be a basher. If so I would do the chassis and shocks first with a pair of 7 cells. See how you like the power. Then if you are still not happy with the power go BL.

toby 02.26.2005 12:30 PM

ya a basher but i like the speed in them cause i might start some racing that is why i was going to get the BL

rc4x4nut 02.26.2005 12:31 PM

A pair of good 7 cells should get you 30 mph.

gorillamaxx 02.26.2005 02:30 PM

 wow this post is getting long

Several good questions here - it would help others with similar questions or comments if you start a new post when you change tracks. This also makes it easier to point out a specific reply or question with good information.

BTW - I get several emails that I point to this forum - Thanks guys

toby 02.26.2005 07:54 PM

cool.... so just get the chasis and shocks first and not the brushless system then?

rc4x4nut 02.26.2005 08:18 PM

Yes and dont forget the 7 cell batteries. Mike can hook you up with everything.

toby 02.26.2005 08:25 PM

i know... Mike is awesome dude.. very kind

toby 02.26.2005 08:44 PM

well.. i have to wait till i sell my tmaxx before i buy the emaxx stuff and the emaxx... powerstrokes are double the price of them worth it?

toby 02.26.2005 09:11 PM

so i might just buy all the parts i need to build a truck at once and build a truck without buying a stock emaxx guys... what you think of that?

RC-Monster Mike 02.26.2005 10:11 PM

That is the best way to do it , if you have the cash up front. I have the powerstroke shocks now, too. I will try to get them listed on the site soon.

toby 02.26.2005 10:28 PM

SWEET MAN.. if i am going to buy everything i need to make like a truck but a roller (no motor, controller, or radio gear) we will see if i will have enough.. how much woudl it cost and what wouldi all need?

RC-Monster Mike 02.26.2005 10:38 PM

Chassis
Extension for chassis (not needed, but recommended)
cvds (front and rear)
Suspension
Aluminum knuckles
center shafts
bulkheads
diff cases
diff cups
spider gears
shocks
transmission
idler gear for transmission
wheel hexes
wheels/tires
bumpers (optional - I don't use them but some do)

It is tough to give a price, as there are several options to choose from (Integy, Proline, RDLogics, FastLane, G-maxx, MIP, etc.). If you choose what you want, I could nail down a price. If you want me to choose what you want, I could do that, too.

toby 02.26.2005 10:39 PM

i know i want GMAXX chasis and suspension and the rest you can pick and i will say what i think about them.. powerstrokes also i want

RC-Monster Mike 02.26.2005 10:45 PM

Everything in silver, or would you like some Blue parts?

toby 02.26.2005 10:51 PM

hmm.. well if you are suggesting integy.. i heard there stuff bends easy.. if not count me in

RC-Monster Mike 02.26.2005 10:54 PM

I am not suggesting anything, per say. Merely trying to determine what your tastes are. Some of the Integy stuff is prone to bending, while other stuff isn't. I personally use the Integy stuff because it is the lightest aluminum stuff around (except G-maxx). The fastLane bulks are stronger for sure. The diff cases don't take a beating, though, so the blue Integy diff cases may well suit your tastes and will be plenty strong. See what I am getting at?

toby 02.26.2005 10:56 PM

ya i do.... i would like some blue just to accent the truck a little more.. that may look very cool...
