it's all metal - and metal bends, and wears down over time (and abuse). and i DID manage to bend and gouge the crap out of some arms, which i replaced with UE while parts were still available. for me, it was all about replacement availability. if i have a part that needs replacing, and that does happen with UE, i don't want to search the 4 corners of the earth for a replacement.

in the end i was offered $2,600 for just the roller from billy's trucks. that's about what i put into it, with a little profit. that's about the only time that can be done with r/c's, so UE has that going for it. :na:

Chadworkz 06.16.2009 05:32 PM

I don't mind tracking down parts, in fact, I enjoy it...heh!

gtxracer 06.16.2009 05:45 PM

UE parts are hands down the toughest I've owned. I had two Supermaxxes, 1 was a Maxx hybrid back in the day. Those parts were expensive then too, but they were still the best on the market.

Robin, if you read this, I hope you're working on patents buddy. I know you'll still be releasing quality parts in the future so I'm not too worried about this.

mkrusedc 06.16.2009 06:03 PM

He has recently released monoblocks, racerX arms and high impact arms. Parts are becoming more plentiful.

There is a thread on UE of someone who broke those VBS towers. I would have a problem damaging a none replaceable $600 part.

...so I'll try the arms and if they get too messed up and I can't replace them I'll put RPM or Flexteks on...

[QUOTE=Chadworkz;296236]I have already built a full-blown Supermaxx, just a nitro version (Thunder), and I beat the snot out of it! The UE stuff is so good that you really don't have to worry about breaking anything, within reason.

I will beat the snot out of these two Supermaxxes as well, because that's what they are being built for! If I break something, I will find a replacement, and thenbeat on it some more!

Here's pics of the nitro SM...

Nice supermaxx. However, you are using the fake setback arms

Chadworkz 06.16.2009 11:05 PM

Yea, I know, heh...that's why I ordered 4 sets of genuine UE Setbacks and Hi-Impacts from the UE store Sunday night. UPS tracking says they will be here tomorrow.

Chadworkz 06.17.2009 07:09 PM

Box-o-parts came today: Setbacks, Hi-Impacts (single-shock), Ultralites, Monoblocks, 6mm stand-offs, VBS/Ultralite setup kits, Ti pillow-balls...full Racer-X should be here tomorrow. Once I find a VBS I will be set to finish both trucks.

Yeah Neil don't mess with us Bama boys LOL. JK:lol::na:

Kcaz25 06.17.2009 10:53 PM

Chad since you are no longer going with VBS on the Mutant SM (right?) Why don't you get GMaxx towers with real short shocks? Like Revo shocks?

Chadworkz 06.17.2009 11:29 PM

You know what, I actually thought about running either Duh Engineering Ti short towers or Gorillamaxx towers, and Ofna Ravager front shocks (identical to Supershocks, just shorter), so I could slam the body all the way down to get it as low as the bottom of the chassis.

Benfits being lower CG. Truggy killer. At truggy runner. Please do it!! I want to see what the Maxx platform still has up its sleeves. :diablo:

Chadworkz 06.17.2009 11:41 PM

Well, I just don't like the chassis and components showing under the body, so I want the body all the way down onto the chassis, for a perfectly clean look...low CG is just a bonus.

Right slammed is only proper! Can't wait to see it RTR!:intello::eyes:

Chadworkz 06.18.2009 12:35 AM

Me either! It will be finished first, unless I find a VBS within a week to finish the Super-G-Maxx!

Chadworkz 06.18.2009 08:23 PM

Racer-X, bearings, and hinge-pins came today...so progress is moving quickly!

Kcaz25 06.19.2009 12:18 AM

Chad you really need to do something bout a/the build thread.

Chadworkz 06.19.2009 04:55 AM

Well...I am still collecting parts, so when I have them all, I will start a build thread for each truck.

Right now, all I need for the Super-G-Maxx is; VBS, UE 6mm steel CVDs, center drive shafts, UE diff outputs for my Ofna 8-spider diffs, Dace 23mm hex-adapters, and a body. Then, sometime after it is finished and running, I am going to replace the transmission (E-Maxx trans with Gorillamaxx single-speed conversion & OTB GenIII idler and 2nd gears) with a custom center-diff/motor-mount that I am going to make.

All I need for the Super-Mutant-Maxx is; UE Racer-X rear carriers & upper arms, UE 6mm Ti CVDs (Lito has a set for me, but he can't ship them until he comes back from deployment), Duh Engineering Ti shock towers & Ofna Ravager front shocks (for the slammed body), UE diff outputs for my Ofna 8-spider diffs, Dace 23mm hex-adapters, Boca full-ceramic bearings (races, balls, & spacers are all ceramic), and a body.

I think that's it.

George16 06.19.2009 05:31 AM

Chad, I'll sell you the 6mm UE titanium cvds, 23mm Dace adapters,UE diff outputs for 8 spyder diffs, and center drive shafts and UE drive cups if you can wait until I return from deployment in September.

Lito, you are the man, sir...I really appreciate everything you have done for me, and I accept your latest offer. Is there any chance you have a full set of UE springs? Actually, do you have two sets of everything you listed, plus a set of real Supershocks?

Also, do you know what length center shafts the Gorillamaxx G2 chassis with UE Monoblock uses? I am REALLY hoping there are UE Ti center shafts that will work, because I absolutely love them!

Thanks for everything, man, and thanks for any help you can provide about the above questions...I really appreciate it.

Chadworkz 06.20.2009 08:19 PM

Welp, add a third Supermaxx to my build sheet, except this one is going to be nitro! I haven't had a nitro truck since about 2007, so I decided to build another one, and I might as well make it a Supermaxx!

I just bought a like-new UE Thunder chassis kit about an hour ago, and am going to slap a new LRP ZR.30 X Competition engine (with shaft-start) on it, plus all of the other UE Supermaxx parts for it...minus VBS.

Here is how I am going to outfit it:
[1] UE Thunder chassis, braces, center skid, Ti driveshafts, BB motor mounts, servo mounts, tank mounts, fuel tank, and antenna mount.
[2] RC Solutions 1.075mm spring-steel F&R skids (lighter than 3mm aluminum, lighter & stronger than 2mm titanium)
[3] UE Ultralite diff cases
[4] Ofna 6-spider diffs with UE outputs
[5] Hardcore Racing F&R bulkheads
[6] Great Assembly (GA) bulkhead braces
[7] UE Knucklehead shock towers
[8] Ofna Ravager rear shocks (identical to Supershocks, just a little longer)
[9] UE 6mm shock stand-offs
[10] UE Racer-X suspension
[11] UE Racer-X Setback lower rear arms (real ones)
[12] UE Racer-X Hi-Impact lower front arms (real ones)
[13] UE 6mm steel CVD axles
[14] Dace Mfg. 23mm hex-adapters
[15] Lunsford Racing titanium hinge-pins
[16] UE GenIV servo-saver steering system
[17] UE Progressive/Dual-Rate shock springs
[18] UE titanium front turnbuckles
[19] Traxxas 2.5 black transmission
[21] OTB input, 1st & 2nd gears
[22] UE Super6 FOC gears
[23] UE 4-shoe clutch system
[24] Strobe slipper system
[25] CNR dual-disc brake kit
[26] JConcepts wing on MBX-5T wing-stay
[27] Diemaker Dave wing-mount
[28] JConcepts Rulux ½" off-set Half-Ups
[29] Pro-Line LPR Bow-Ties
[30] Pro-Line Crowd Pleaser Revo 3.3 body
[31] Tony's Screws
[32] Acer Ceramic bearings kit

I think that's all...

I love it, I really do. But the reason I said that you need to create a build thread(s) a few days ago was because even if this thread is long in the tooth its still not your thread or the place. Oh and UE is making 8mm CVDs again!!

Chadworkz 06.20.2009 10:30 PM

That's true, sorry to the OP...I will stop posting here.
