No problem captain harlock, show us your list when your done correcting it!
just keep in mind that if you get the dace adapters the go directly over the stock 14mm hex unlike the prolines which eliminate the 14mm hex and just use the stock pin.
I still need, some fewthings like, aluminum body mounts for the body of the truck. You konw if Mike has them?
Don't get alum body post, they will destroy the body. Use plastic mount's.
you're sure about that? how much will the plastic ones cost? what about the rest of the bearings that I need? where are they located and what are their sizes?
DO the dace adapters. they capture and clamp the rim over a larger surface area. Stick with plastic 23mm rims, the wabash rims are the wrong offset, go velocity series either dish or for some bling the velo 6 are nice. For 40 series, the cheyenne has the bling. STay away from the bead locks. to heavy. Tire wise unless you race the mashers are a good all around tire . The crime fighters are sweet especially if you race. I do not like 40mm bowtie , no side wall. Traxxas plastic body mounts remain on my rig. The axle bearings for the 6mm Ue cvd's and the racer x knuckles are 6x16x5 you will need 8. The bearings for the servo saver fro UE are included. Transmission 2@6x12x4mm and 2@5x11x4mm. The bearings for your bulhead / Diff, I need to know what you are going with?
Yeah, as for body mounts you should get plastic, Papa, i think hes gonna use the hybrids or vbs.
The hybrids coupled with the 8 Spyder diffs should include the bearings needed. The only thing lift is the single speed conversion. How many bearings are supposed to be there inside that conversion?
What are the stock gears I'm going to need after getting the 1/8 diffs and idlers? |
4 bearings.
What do you mean with stock gears? |
your going to need the plastic second speed gear, the output shaft, the input shaft (modified for the single speed), the idler shaft, and mikes idler, strobe slipper, plastic or derilin ofna spur, stock pressure plates, and i would recommend the sprong kit. you will need all of that and then your flm cnc'd half and the singlespeed conversion. i think thats all for the tranny. not sure what motor mount you wanna run but theres a few better than stock.
You will need the following to complete the whole tranny ; http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...R-AL-WS&cat=47 , http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...TRX3991&cat=48 , http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...TRX3990&cat=48 , http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...TRX3994&cat=48 , http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...TRX3993&cat=48 , and http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...TRX3985&cat=48 . Thats for the complete tranny, are you going to use the aluminum side cover by flm or stock plastic?
im pretty sure flm. so he wont need the plastic case.
Oh, ok, so hes goin full blown aluminum eh;)
Yup, all aluminum big fat truck.
- FLM HYBRID BULKS $150 - FLM HALF CASE $40 - FLM SHOCK TOWERS $48 - FLM EXT. CHASSIS $90 - FLM TRANS. SKID PLATE. $8 - FLM REAR SKID $14 - FLM FRONT SKID $12 - RC-MONSTER HEAT SINK L $30 - RC-MONSTER IDLERS $25 - STROBE SLIPPER KIT $32 - G-MAXX S.SPEED CONV. $59 - SUPER MAXX C.D SHAFTS $56 - SUPERMAXX S.SAVER KIT $78 - SUPER MAXX 6MM CVDS $124+ - DACE HEX ADAPTERS $50 - EXT. BODY $28 - 8SPYDER DIFFS X2 $136+ - RACERX SUSP.KIT $400+ - TONY'S SCREWS $31 - SUPER SHOCKS $79 - TRAXXAS S.TENSION SPRING $2.50 - TRAXXAS OUT PUT SHAFT $7.50 - TRAXXAS INPUT SHAFT $7 - SLIPPER PRESS PLATES $5 - OUT PUT 31T GEAR $3 - BODY CLIPS $3 - MOTOR MOUNT $8 -TRANNY BEARINGS ( Some one tells me) - TIRES & RIMS $60 - STEEL PILLOWS $26+ - BODY POSTS ( Some one tells me) Probably that's as far as I can go. What do you think? |
Oops, I forgot the traxxas gearbox halves. $9.25
you wont need the gearbox halfs since you are going to use the flm half and g-maxx conv. also, with the single speed eliminates 1 of the idlers in the tranny so you will only need 1. a few more things to add to your list:
bumpers (i would go stock) bulkhead braces (i would use rpm plastic or flm) strobe sprong kit (not required but recommend and if you use this you wont need the stock tension spring) p.s. were did you find rims and tires for 60 bucks? with 40 series such as the cheyenne and crime fighters or mashers for instance would be closer to 100 bucks. |
For the wheels and rims, Mike sells a pair of premounted rims/tires for 30 dollars. I dont think that the Hybrids need any braces, since they're already come with braces built with them.
The bumpers, where can I find it? |
NO bulkhead braces needed with the hybrid bulks. If you are using the Gmaxx motor mount the sprong will not fit.
I will not be using the g-maxx motor mount. About the chassis extension you're using in your lovely truck, does it fit in the FLM chassis?
No FLM here, so no promises. It should work on any chassis that is built to the maxx standard. An exteded rear center drive shaft is needed.
So, the S.speed tranny consists of one idler, one output gear,....what else? the bearings. How many of them do I need in the single speed tranny?what size? sorry for asking again, could not understand it the first time.
Hear is a link to the assembly diagram for the tranny The part numbers are listed in the diagram. I suggest you print it out and keep it in your files.
any suggestions for the bumpers?
You really do want us to make all your decisions don't you?:L:
Kinda depends on the look you are going for. My stock maxx has an RPM bumper. |
Sorry for being very dependable, but I did not even own a e-maxx befor so please hang in there a bit, okay.
The stock gearbox includes a pair of idler shafts, but with the S.S conversion as squee said, there is no need for the gearbox, but what about the shafts. I still need one for the idler.
You should ask mike if he could get you those little idler holder shafts, as there is no point of buying the whole gearbox if your not gonna use it.
Yeah. Have you been in touch with mikelately? he did not show up for quite some time.
Yes i have, hes online right now! Hes on almost every day!
Okay then, Sylvester. I think I made lots of you feel sick with all these childish qestions, however, thanks for helping me find my way into the monster world.

Not at all, the only way to learn is to ask, i rather have millions of questions asked than having a miserable person not asking squat, no problem man, good luck with your build!
Asking questions and getting answers is what the forum is for. No worries.
Okay, how about contiueing our discussions for another 8 pages?

.
yeah yeah
Next question?
Well, probably you have seen the center diff used by Promod in his thread which he called david vs goliath. What do you know about it? is it really something?
Center diff? Candyman also has a center diff which is quite somthing, i dont really see a need for a center diff in a MT, as that would change it into a truggy.
Now that makes some sense. Its for ataining more velocity if I'm not wrong and probably lighter than the traditional tranny of the Maxx trucks.
