I have over 60Gigs of music from pretty much every genre, and yet I have never heard of the majority of the groups you all are listening to. Where do you find this stuff? Is most of it new? I'll admit my collection is mostly prior to 2002.

Anyway, right now in my car I have the "August Rush" soundtrack. On my PC, I've been listening to Dave Chappelle. On my iPod, I've been listening to Ryan Schuppe (Bluegrass).

Everyone should check out Pandora radio. www.pandora.com You make stations by artist or genre (i.e. Lamb of God) and it plays similar songs. Most songs are by differen't artists, which I would change if I could. Besides that it's really cool.

The song that started playing when I clicked on my led zeppelin channel was over the hills and far away. that is still going...

Hey if any of you have Comcast digital cable just turn on Music Choice #410 (Metal). That's pretty much my life's soundtrack... Now if they would just stop playing Clutch and a few other suck bands... :grrrrrr:

Good thread...

Good links, been checking many of these out.. Like metal, but some is too much when the vocals are just "roar rowwwrrr rawwwwwrrrrr rrrrr wrrrrraaaaa!!!" I can sing like that, I want to listen to someone who can sing metal and not be cheesy. lots of dudes f it up imo

The lamb of God is pretty good, skates the line on the vocals but pulls it out to kick ass. Slipknot has some awesome stuff as well.

I like stuff like Supultura:
Territory
nomad
Kick ass instrumental (wait for it till ~:58)
Their drummer is awesome

got to love some classic ministry

I know what you mean... I listen to metal mainly because I love the music. If a song's melody/rhythm is good enough then I will tolerate the "singing" based on that alone. Most of the time I find that the lyrics at least follow the rhythm of the song, and that's fine; whether I can comprehend them or not. It's the irrhythmic* screaming that I just can't stand.
