Ah, alu pinions will wear badly on steel. Make sure you get hardened steel pinions for that spur. If in doubt, buy rcm.

I would love to watch that pull. 1527 vs dual Pletties :)

T-Bro 04.17.2010 01:13 PM

No match... He'd win for sure right now. We can pull for pink slips for sure. As soon as I get my other motor and Esc to throw on the other side of my truck. Until then i'll pass.

killajb 04.17.2010 08:31 PM

Interesting match tho.. T-Bro seems to have a chassis/wheel combo more suited for pulling. As-is, I wonder if dual Plettenbergs on an extended chassis with 40-series wheels would be enough to offset any difference in center of gravity and traction..

Hmm..

T-Bro 04.18.2010 09:37 PM

You was right!!

If you didn't, maybe turning the tires around wouldn't even be nessasary ?

Good Luck and keep us posted !!

I didnt get to do the BIG pullout because the guy didnt show up (at least not before I had to leave). My Bobcats played in the playoffs today... couldnt miss that! lol.
I won, but I zoomed in with my camera and there was MAJOR slippage. I will be turning the wheels around to see if I can get more traction with my wheels the other way.
Thanks for the advice!

T-Bro 04.20.2010 10:32 AM

I reversed my tire tread yesterday. AMAZING Difference!!

Bondonutz 04.20.2010 10:46 AM

Glad I could help !
More video of you smacking that nitro ass !

T-Bro 04.21.2010 05:24 PM

Ha ha... I already have 1 waiting for you.... Its too short to make a video so I'm waiting until I pull a couple more trucks this Sunday and then Part II will be made!

Finnster 04.21.2010 08:02 PM

Hows the weights working out?

T-Bro 04.21.2010 08:06 PM

So far the front bumper one, not needed. I just added the extra Battery pack for my last pull-out. I could tell a difference, but my tire tread wasnt reversed. I'll really get to see where I stand weight/traction wise this Sunday.

T-Bro 04.22.2010 07:34 PM

Just purchased the Monoblock from UE Hopefully this will help keep minimize the wheelies. Probably not alot but anything will help. Now tell me this. My friend is talking about buying some lightning 1/8 scale nitro truck with 2, 4.3 motors so he can pull against me. Who do you think would win??

Kcaz25 04.22.2010 07:40 PM

The brushless. Monoblock will help alittle. I could still do back flips with a mono on 4s no less. I like my monoblock for the handling and size increase.

T-Bro 04.22.2010 07:45 PM

I think I'm going to find out this Sunday. I still want to pull against the guy who called me out, but I will see if I can get two nitro guys to pull against me at the same time... That will be a hot video no matter who wins! If I win, it will be even HOTTER! Lol.

Sorry for the delay in posts. Still waiting on the guy who called me out to show up again. I have 1 truck willing to do the double pull, just looking for a second victim (i mean volunteer) lol! Since I had nothing better to do, I pulled against a 1/5 baha. I know, I'm a nut... Lol. I have video footage coming soon, just waiting to do 1 more pullout so Part II can be a hot video. Stay tuned, it's about to go down!

You did pull vs the baja? How did it go?

T-Bro 04.28.2010 05:43 PM

Yes I did...

I dont want to give too much because it will kill the video before I even post it lol. I'll give you this hint. I just made a NEW 5.2 lb weight for my truck....

T-Bro 04.28.2010 07:44 PM

Oh yeah.. I just got my monoblock from UE. I already put it on the truck and Wow! It makes a HUGE difference. I'm getting a aluminum plate bent tomorrow to fill the gap I have. I can't wait until Sunday... I will be 100‰ prepared!!

T-Bro 05.02.2010 04:49 PM

Man the Baha guy showed back up! Sadly my truck went down as soon as I fired it up... My shaft that holds the spur gear is sliding in and out... Something must have broke or came off. Anybody know what it might be?

JThiessen 05.02.2010 06:18 PM

Probably just sheared the pin that holds the upper gear on. (you have the G-maxx single speed in that, correct?)

T-Bro 05.02.2010 06:25 PM

no I have the 2 speed but all aluminum gears except for that main shaft that's going in and out. I'm really pissed because I could have done about 3 pullouts today if that shaft wasn't loose. Oh well... Time to get to work and get ready for next Sunday.

suicideneil 05.02.2010 09:40 PM

Ooh the suspense....

If you do find its a sheered pin holding the upper gear in place, just replace it with either an allen key or drill bit- hammer it in and trim it off flush ( a little loctite or CA glue is nice too ).

Finnster 05.02.2010 11:52 PM

If its the old style emaxx tranny, then yeah, its the pin. Do as Neil suggested. Surprized it hasn't broken previously w/ all the force you are putting on it. I killed mine way back in the day w/ a 8XL and 5S 10C lipos. Good times... :)

T-Bro 05.04.2010 10:38 PM

that's what it was! Luckily I had a brand new spare. I will repair the one I took out so I can have it on stand by too. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need it.
also to test my new weight I pulled my lawnmower with my truck. Then I sat on my LM and it pulled it with me on it!! I think Mr. Baha has a whole new animal to deal with this Sunday. Lol.

:surprised: Was this on grass or pavement? That's equally impressive either way!

killajb 05.05.2010 09:21 PM

To heck with the baja vid, I'd love to see a vid of you pulling yourself around on your lawnmower!

T-Bro 05.06.2010 06:57 AM

it was on pavement... And i'm on the video.... Still tuning up my truck while I have it tore apart. I'll keep you guys posted!

T-Bro 05.07.2010 07:12 PM

@killajb just made the video! I'm working on it now... I'll keep you posted.

T-Bro 05.09.2010 07:24 PM

Just did the Baha pullout... Video coming asap!

Bondonutz 05.09.2010 07:44 PM

Hurry up G, were anxious to see your ballin' ride put the swerve the Baja.

Nice, very impressive. So now what are you gonna pull against, a Hyundai :)

nitrostarter 05.10.2010 10:46 PM

Hmm, I smell burnt clutch on that 5B....

Nice job!

Finnster 05.11.2010 11:06 AM

Wow, that was much closer than I thought. Gasser does have quite a bit of power and a big weight advantage. OTOH you have 4wd (tho not sure if that helps much.)
Good pull and good vid

Wonder what it would take to tow him around like a bitch?
