Good till about 70mph and then epic fail unless you modify them like I show in my gorillamaxx 100mph or bust thread. Even then I havent seen any that have made it to 100mph yet. Nobodies done it yet with a MT.

sharkattack99 09.16.2009 06:05 PM

do you use ca glue or regular super glue or does it matter? i guess i will have to do that with my road rage tires cause first i forgot to tape the inside of them not to mention 2 tire tread is going one way and the other two are going the opposite way, lol my first time gluing tires. if they blow i will try somthing else say the phaltline and tape and fish line them if need be.

Ca+ Strapped tires+ fishing line= happiness

Word from the wise. if you have never glued tires get someone who knows how to. Because if one comes even partialy unglued at speed your car could possibly becaome a 80mph cartwheeling object of (self) destruction.

Mind if I ask how new you are to the hobby?

sharkattack99 09.16.2009 06:33 PM

well nuts i was going to strap them but plum for got to.

well i bought my first hobby grade RC in january of this year had it for about 3 month that sucked real bad (was an Exceed tectonic) then bought my savage in either march or april when brushless with it in june so 9 months with the hobby. so still pretty new, lol.

You have enough money to replace the esc when you smoke it with that big heavy savy?

sharkattack99 09.16.2009 06:40 PM

of course i do, maybe not righ away but i do.

ca glue isn't your best bet when gluing the phaltlines around the rims. IC-2000 is a rubber/ca mix that is stronger than any tire glue i've ever seen. i use it on my phaltliners and 60wt line tie-off and it's done well into the high 70's.

Some guy at jaco told me to use a medium grade thread locker for mounting rubber to plastic wheels. Anybody ever hear of this.

that's not a bad idea, but it could be expensive making a whole bead on 4 tires, both sides. those thread locker bottles are tiny.

Rivermaxx 09.17.2009 01:35 PM

I guess you havent seen the big bottles then, same size as any big ca glue container. I dont recomend this I am just wondering if anybody has tried it or if there is truth to this.

sharkattack99 09.17.2009 01:59 PM

so what glue should be used to glue the fishing line on?would ca glue work or would super/krazy glue work better?

_paralyzed_ 09.17.2009 02:55 PM

super/krazy glue is ca glue. It's just packaged differently.

sharkattack99 09.17.2009 03:02 PM

oh ok

sharkattack99 09.17.2009 06:53 PM

is there a certain way to glue the line on? does it need to be tightly around or just snug? and how many Rivermaxx i saw in your thread there was 3 is that about right? and how badly does it cut into your tires? i mean in my first run is my tire going to be cut into 3 pieces? is there still pretty good traction?
