Haven't had anything to update in awhile. While I was down in FL got to run at Kissimmee Raceway a few times and it was a blast.
Just ordered a Viper 1/8 buggy motor to try out. I thought they were going to be 4-pole, but I guess they are 2-pole. Have a few reservations about that, but I really wanted to try one for a long time, so I'll give it a shot. |
Got my Viper motor today. Looks pretty good, solder tabs have plenty of copper. Going to visit a friend this weekend, but should be able to test it out next week.

How about some nude shots?!!
I'm asking my local dealer for the 1800kv motor. |
Looks Very Nice Indeed :)
I really like the look of this motor, every detail. Great Pictures :)

Haven't posted on RCM for awhile. Been really busy with work, just started digging some of my RC stuff out again now that winter has passed.
Ordered the new version Jammin motor mount from Mike and also the RCM center spool adapter. Also picked up a slick new body and some Sweep wheels/tires since the last time I updated this. |
Got my RCM single-speed adapter today. I bought the 8mm version and assembled it with Ofna parts (single-speed shaft OFN40759, center cap joints OFN40519, and 6mm E-clips OFN36743). Put it together along with a healthy dose of Loctite and it feels very solid.
Also got the updated RCM Jammin mount. I'm glad I can finally try out the current RCM motor mounting system, looks like it will make setting gear mesh and pinion changes a breeze. Going to get everything installed tonight and test out the spool tomorrow. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...3/P1030612.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...3/P1030613.jpg |
Here's the body I picked up awhile back, Ofna Porsche 911

Ran into a snag tonight installing the center spool. The single-speed shaft and attached outdrives stick out further than with a regular diff. This means the dogbones are now too long to fit. Did some browsing around and found some shorter dogbones from JQ Products "THE car" that will fit.
The bad news is I'll have to wait to test out the spool now. The good news is I pretty much needed to replace the stock dogbones anyway, pins were pretty worn down. The JQ dogbones were actually cheaper, and also available in red which should look nice with all the other red anodized hardware I got on there. |
Reminds me of mines...

Champ, that is nice craftsmanship. It reminds me of my build. Here is my GTP II. I subjected it to the same carbon fiber make-over with the exception of the shock towers.

Nice paint on the Porsche Champ.
