Then came the ESC and the BEC. I also added the extra caps for good measure.
The kit came supplied with a sealed receiver box as well.

The kit also includes a new servo tray. Very well made and well thought out.

Ran three sets of packs through this weekend. The kit, motor/ESC performed very well. Bashing in a very large lot. Top speed is very similar to Losi 5ive trucks. Amazing low end torque. Jumps very well and controllable.
I need better tire for the loose dirt conditions.

Just awesome man, I was hoping to see more of this truck.

That steering setup looks like what the Losi 5ive needs.

I think a spool is the way to go, even with the thickest oil brushless motors just heat up diffs, and heat is bad!

Is that an FM radio?:whip: Hobbyking sells 2.4 for $20:yipi:

Get some video!

I recall having a discussion about the performance value of a center diff as opposed to the drawback in heat when used in a 1/5 scale electric vehicle.

Thanks -paralized-.

I'm an old school, old fart. :) I have a JR radio, but it is FM...just not 2.4

I have about 30-40 cars and trucks on this radio system, so it would be really expensive to switch.

I guess I'll tell Monster Mike to skip the center diff then. I will not be racing, so I guess I'm set.

Any news if/when the conversion kit will be available?

rotary rocket 04.11.2013 06:12 PM

Contact Mike, it is already available.

nho1 04.13.2013 06:30 AM

Have sent him a email now.
Can't find the conversion kit in the webshop.

rcjmaxx 08.10.2013 12:22 AM

Any word yet on the availability of this MCD conversation kit?

rotary rocket 08.10.2013 01:15 AM

I have used mine so much that I already converted it to on-road.

Just ask Monster Mike. He should be able to replicate for you. Love the simplicity of the design. It has been BULLET proof.

The center diff is hard plastic and will need to be replaced soon. It is a cheap replacement via Red Cat part.

Got some aggressive spiked tires for it from ebaY. The MCD rally tires did not have enough grip. Jumps very well; totally controllable since it is electric.

Massive amounts of torque, so much so that she can act as a crawler. Not really my thing, but it is so much fun to see this giant thing climb some seriously steep hills.

rcjmaxx 08.10.2013 01:25 PM

PM sent to Mike. Got pics of the converted car? What body are you running?

strodedawg 03.10.2014 10:14 AM

any plans for a rr5 conversion?
