Perfect would be IMHO, if one could define a table with Torque control value and associated ms value (But I guess that would be quite some work). But maybe it's possible to make just the endpoints adjustable in the ESC? If it could be set to a range between let's say 0.5ms and 2.5ms, the three possible ms values of the TQi's third channel would correspond to three usable Torque control settings (I realize 0.5ms and 2.5ms is outside of normal signal range, it's just to be able to adjust the range of usable Torque control values). |
I would just love to know what the actual torque control is. Like a way to know what your setting is on when using the third channel.
|
Yeah, that would be nice. Like the castle link software already shows the ms-values of the throttle calibration maybe it would be possible to make the ESC also save the last-seen ms-value of the extra channel so that it can be displayed in the castle link software.
|
That would be cool it's nice to know where it was just for fine tuning and getting back to the setting you liked
|
Just an idea: Would it be possible to use a servotester with a small display that shows the ms-value, permanently attach it to the aux wire (and positive/negative of course) and leave it on the car? That would do exactly what we want, or? Just not remote-controlled, but that's okay for me ...

You mean the purpose of being controlled by the remote? Yeah, well, the alternative would be to connect a laptop everytime to make adjustments, so an onboard torque control knob is a big improvement for me. Great that it should work with a servotester, I'll try that out :)
BTW: Is there anything planned with bluetooth and smartphones? Using a laptop on the field is annoying and the field link card only supports the basic options ... |

Adjusting things via Castle Link over bluetooth would be AWESOME! Or for me through traxxas's remote and my phone. |

I think that doesn't work with my TQi :( There are three pins inside, with nothing connected I get 1500us, with a jumper lead from the left to the middle pin I get 1000us, with the right one 2000us. Also tried with several different resistor values, always the same.

Hello,
Will the Aux function go to the Sanwa MT4 in the future too? |
I finally got the time to order a Monster X! I wanted to take part in the promotion and review process but I didn't have time. Im pretty excited! :mdr: USPS dropped it this morning! I won't be home until tomorrow afternoon.

Hey my AUX on my transmitter is only a toggle how can that adjust in increments of 10% is this only for radios that have more dynamic aux channels or can I adjust this with EPA?
Thanks! |
I love mine!! I can't believe you can buy this for like $140!!
The sensored part is really smooth. Not being stuck rolling backwards is amazing. For those that don't know sensorless systems have to find a stopped backward movement with the rotor for any micro second before it will go the opposite direction again. I could rock crawl with this thing its so smooth. lol almost. he first thing I wanted to know where the dimensions.* The footprint is almost identical which is great. I am not sure about height. That wouldn't matter to most people. It has four caps. The old one had 3. The fan is easily serviceable. The case feels more solid. The motor and power wires face exactly as the old mmm does which is perfect for my setups. I love the red X on top. Those sorts of aesthetics are important to me. I shortened all the wires to match my setup except of course the sensor and fan wires. I ran the castle link software through the esc pleasantly finding new features. Last time I got on castle link I had not seen the feature to limit the torque that new dynamic way. I had since heard about it but never seen it until a few days ago. I think its awesome! I left it alone for now though. I think I left everything else pretty much default. I did changed brake power to 50%. I have not figured out the aux function controls. The .9ms and 2ms explanation makes no sense to me.* I may have the numbers wrong but that part of the manual doesn't seem in sync with the rest of the user friendliness of the rest of the manual. This is my gear ratio, voltage, kv, weight, and ambient temps: The vehicle is an 11lb truggy. South Alabama has had some crazy weather. I ran the truck the day after Christmas on Saturday. The ambient temp at the time was 75f. I was running in tall grass about 3 inches. Full throttle back and forth. The throttle would be all the way down for about 25 seconds. I would slow down only to turn around. The hottest I got the esc to read out was 123f. The fan never came on. The motor got to 136f.
