And a cute little giggle on the vid

Sower 12.19.2006 11:22 AM

From what I understand, they were having trouble getting the motor to work the way they wanted it to. If that's the case, I wish they would just put the esc on the market w/o the motor. Then put the motor out when it's good to go. Summer is a long time to wait for this setup.

Sower 12.19.2006 11:24 AM

Hey GorillaMaxx . . . did you really want to know more about the HB Lightning Stadium 10? I saw you posted a question about anyone having one and I replied. Then, there wasn't any more about it. Is there something you would like to know that I might be able to help with?

GorillaMaxx360 12.19.2006 06:09 PM

i was looking at this because i needed a car to race in the nitro stadium class at my LHS. I was looking at this because it was classified as a stadium and it was 4WD with this in mind i thought i might give me an edge on the competition because it is 4WD VS the other 2wds i will be racing with . I will be racing on road with (2) GT2's (1) jato 3.3 and (1) XXXN-T i was just wanting something that would keep up with these and would handle better than them for a better chance at a win. Please PM me or post all the information you have got on these baby's i will read it all. tell me all of the facts, tips, tricks, do's, donts, goods, and bads ect... It will help me in my decision. Right now i have decided on the jato but if there is some good info you have got that is very descriptive and helpful i might change my mind. THANKS A TON

Sower 12.19.2006 06:42 PM

Hey, no problem. Since this isn't a thread on the Lightning 10, I'll try to be quick. You're right - the 4wd system is a huge advantage. If I was a better driver, I would be able to keep up with the 1/8 scale buggies at our track. I've put on some Snake Eyes tires, and some threaded shocks from a Duratrax Evader (rear shocks). I had to limit the play of them to shorten them about 1/4". Still not ideal, but better than stock.

Basically it is very fast, and with those tires (the stock ones are horrible) it handles excellent. I get a bunch of people at the track saying things like . . . "hey, what is that?" or something to the effect of "holy $%#@ that's fast - what is it?". Very durable too. With the same driver, it will easily smoke the Jato or any of the others you've mentioned. It's really a 1/10 scale truggy - not a stadium truck. Very durable too. If you want to know more or any photos, I could either e-mail you or start a new thread. Good luck!

GorillaMaxx360 12.20.2006 02:15 PM

why is the words (and this thread) sometimes red like stadium 10 in this thread.

BrianG 12.20.2006 03:44 PM

Huh?

I know that if you are linked to a thread that was found as the result of a search, it will highlight the search phrase. Is that what you mean?

GorillaMaxx360 12.20.2006 05:49 PM

yes thanks i was wondering why the words were sometimes red Thanks sorry for the dumb question just had to know

BrianG 12.20.2006 09:43 PM

Lol, not a dumb question, I was just trying to figure out the question! :)

GorillaMaxx360 12.20.2006 10:34 PM

cool LOL
Funny though how did you figure it out

BrianG 12.20.2006 11:16 PM

At first I didn't get it, but then I remembered that when I do a search, my search terms are highlighted and just figured that must be what you meant.

GorillaMaxx360 12.20.2006 11:18 PM

OK i see how this could be i noticed it was the works i searched to were highlighted but i did not think that was why.

jollyjumper 02.09.2007 09:41 AM

Serum 02.09.2007 03:52 PM

So aim for the summer of 2008, that's my advice..

BrianG 02.09.2007 04:12 PM

Lol. Yeah, summer of 2008 would be a safe bet....

Serum 02.09.2007 04:19 PM

Amen to that Brian.. too bad it takes that long to test and develop!

Actually, I was confirming what you posted; you said summer of '08. I was just being funny. ;) I figured you meant 2007, but realized '08 would be a safer bet after all. :)

Serum 02.09.2007 04:25 PM

No, there was some fun intended with that 2008.. trust me, it will be 2008... seen it a million times by now..

BrianG 02.09.2007 04:33 PM

LOL. I guess the joke is on me then. :)

I really don't understand how hard it could be. They've built enough different ESCs now that you'd think it would be a relatively simple matter, especially considering the wesbite has been saying "coming soon" for what seems like forever!

Besides, I thought I read somebody saying they were testing a suitable mating motor now and that the ESC has been done? If that's the case, they otta just slap a smooth-case Neu in the package deals and call it a day. Just get that ESC to market already!!! A winter/early spring release is the perfect time for all us electric conversion guys to build our projects, not in the middle of race season!

Serum 02.09.2007 04:35 PM

LOL, call it a day.. shut down the lights and go home.. i rest my case... I guess their software engineers/developers are struggling with some weird cogging issues with the neu Brian..

BrianG 02.09.2007 04:37 PM

lol. Cogging issues with Neu? Imagine that. Ok, then an XL in there! Would be an inexpensive system, much like the MM systems. Then they can work on the software to fix the Neu issue - unless the issue requires a hardware change.

Serum 02.09.2007 04:42 PM

Well, considering their other setups, they all use a hacker/feigao/nemesis/wanderer type of clone.. so i can't believe they include a high-end motor with the MMM...

neweuser 02.09.2007 06:41 PM

That's what I would say too, ditch the motor and hook up with xl. otherwise, drop the motor idea all toghether and come out with the esc...that's the main issue we all look for...

BlackedOutREVO 02.09.2007 07:07 PM

yeh bring on the mmm esc!!!!!! no one wants the motor LOL we all want the speedo!:D

coolhandcountry 02.09.2007 08:07 PM

Yeah the esc is the important part.

glassdoctor 02.09.2007 09:12 PM

I've been telling Joe that they need to just finsh up the esc and get it on the market. He won't say if they will do that but it is a possibility... but we still don't know when... just like the software update.

crazyjr 02.09.2007 09:50 PM

I got enough power, I need an esc for some serious stuff. I have a BK 9920 and an MGM 16024, but love the easy to program Mamba Max, Please hurry

jnev 02.10.2007 09:12 PM

I am weighting for this system to put in my buggy. Lets hope it'll still be 2007 when it comes out.

BrianG 02.10.2007 09:35 PM

Just about every day I go to this link to see if anything is changed. They removed any direct link to that page, so I'm hoping they upload a new page before they officially release the ESC thinking people don't know how to get there. :)

Serum 02.11.2007 06:13 AM

Knowing castle, they want to have an entire setup. the esc won't be launched before that.. Too bad they don't consider an ESC only.

crazyjr 02.11.2007 06:09 PM

If they did they could practically leapfrog the quark

crazyjr 02.16.2007 09:20 PM

I was talking to Larain60 on windows messenger a little while ago and he said he was on the phone with them today, according to him they said late spring at one point, then they said april and they were still working on the motors and plan to release as a set. I hope he jumps on shortly and verifies this. He said it will be a 200 amp esc

glassdoctor 02.16.2007 10:32 PM

I talked to them a few days ago and heard the same thing... I hate to make statements, for the same reason that CC will not talk. Because then people get upset and start bugging them when it was said to be out.

But from what I was told my impression is that it will be a couple months before there are betas ready and that they are waiting for the combo... no esc only.

I tried to tell them that there's a lot of guys that only want the esc anyway... that many of us already have suitable motors. But someone there is stubborn. :035:

Oh well... at least it's good to hear they are still working on it.. unlike Hacker who gave up like little babies. :012: :012: :012:

starscream 02.17.2007 04:22 AM

Early on, this ESC was rated for 16 cells (5S Lipo) did either of you happen to catch what its voltage rating will be?

Serum 02.17.2007 04:58 AM

for their own sake, it would be smart if it did 6-8S minimum.. i hope for a big fat 12S, but i don't see that happen..

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 05:33 AM

hey, if this comes out in the spring, should i wait to buy a bk setup and if its spring then decide if it already is produced?
will this be superior to BK warrior + wanderer XL?

Serum 02.17.2007 06:43 AM

Yes, it will be superior, but its depending on the motor they include.

and i can guarantee you it won't be out before 2008..

The warriors are already outdated, BK will bring out a new line of controllers soon.

jollyjumper 02.17.2007 06:56 AM

oh boy, i'll hold of on the bk then.
any other suggestion for purchase in 2~3 months?
