I was just going off of what he said. I didn't look to see the temps, but a cool motor and hot ESC means its overgeared since the motor will be pulling to many amps and cause the ESC to get hot. Its the opposite for undergeared.

By the way, did you happen to lightly scuff and wash the body with soap before you painted it? If not, thats why the paint didn't stick.

gtxracer 11.11.2007 10:50 PM

I did wash and lightly scuff the body. If you look close, it's only the gunmetal, which was in the "lexan" section but apparently doesn't stick well. My Pacra (sp?) Chrome did the same thing, yet was "lexan" specific paint.

I managed to confuse myself again with the whole hot/cold motor vs cold/hot esc thing- I dunno how I do it, must have been tired.... but yeah, cool motor+hot esc = over geared. As for the damage- hopefully she is very understanding, otherwise you'll be on the couch for a week.....

gtxracer 11.12.2007 12:32 PM

We don't have a couch, haha. She wasn't mad, just told me since I broke it, I have to fix it. She lets me off easy when she really shouldn't!

suicideneil 11.13.2007 12:28 PM

An understanding & fair minded woman? I've never encountered such a thing- you are indeed a very lucky man!...

gtxracer 11.14.2007 05:06 PM

Yeah, she's not too bad. I've had my fair share of crazy or freaky girls....yeck.

I found one. She is fully supportive of my Hobby and as long as food is on the table, the bills are paid, and we have a roof over our head she pretty much lets me do what I want...... except own more than 2 RC's but that is space limited.

they are rare but exist. seems gtx found himself a good one too!

BrianG 11.14.2007 06:35 PM

Where does one go to find such a woman because I need to place an order! Mike should start carrying some of those.

gtxracer 11.14.2007 07:19 PM

I seriously don't know where they come from, haha. I do enjoy being able to have my hobbies and tastes without my girlfriend trying to change them. Like I said in an earlier post, not only does she encourage it, she buys me stuff!!!

Thanks Dicky!

gtxracer 11.19.2007 04:29 AM

Had another bash session the other night. This time I tried on the LST shoes and a body from my Revo so things don't get so beat up! I'm waiting on some parts to come in for this thing and my Revo. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get my Revo out for some playtime! :D

That looks rather funky with those huge wheels on there, shouldnt have any ground clearance issues thats for sure :)

2FastSS4U 11.20.2007 08:30 PM

lol, it makes it look like the old Tyco Rebound I used to have.

Ninmaxx 11.20.2007 08:40 PM

Lol it does, I use to have one too untill I drove it in the pond...

squeeforever 11.20.2007 10:06 PM

I had a Rebound as well. That thing was indestructible...I could run it off the roof, off the jungle gym at school, anything...I actually drove my Tyco Psycho into a pond once. Damn near cried since I hadn't had it to long...Worked about a month later...

suicideneil 11.21.2007 12:05 PM

The joys of childhood- I had a cheap tyco buggy thing, and a 4x4 MT that looked rather like a clod/juggy; is it any wonder why we still love these things?...

Ninmaxx 11.21.2007 06:42 PM

I had a ton of Tyco's and Nikko's and most of the time if I got tired of them I took them apart and tried to build something out of them without any success...

t-maxxracer32 11.21.2007 06:52 PM

dang that looks freakin MEAN with those tires.

i like how you cut the body

looks very nice.

gtxracer 11.21.2007 09:46 PM

I had a few Tycos. I liked the Mutilator the best, but that's because it was my brothers and I stole it from him! :D

Thanks T-Maxxracer. It was pretty fun to drive. I could get two wheels up in the air doing donuts on the wet pavement. Was pretty cool to watch them balloon up then come down.

DrKnow65 11.23.2007 11:29 PM

Paralleling two battery packs on a cheap radioshack RC to make it go faster :)

I had the frog, the grasshopper, radoshack buggy (with a two speed diff you had to shift on the back of it) And then the RC10!!! a real RC car, gold chassis and replaceable a-arms, wow that was the stuff (untill I drove it under a moving semi across a huge dirt lot :( All of them with stick controlers. HeHeHe

dirt101 11.24.2007 10:34 AM

oh yeah I had my fair share of radioshack rc to. I had one that I swear was fast. thing went like 17mph, but that was real fast for my radioshack experience

gtxracer 12.01.2007 04:52 AM

Lil update...more carnage too...ugh.

Went bashing tonight but ended up hitting a stand alone curb at about 20+. Tried to hit the binders and turn but I ended up smacking the whole front end sideways right against it. I thought it was okay, but decided to take a closer look anyway. Glad I did...check these out. Didn't notice the wheel until I got inside! First wheel I've ever broken...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/HPIM1130.jpg

Bulk, steering braces, and servo case! Sheesh!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...o/HPIM1131.jpg

dirt101 12.01.2007 09:07 AM

never seen a servo case break like that. glad to see im not the only person that has broken wheels. I broke 2 in one day. I just so happen to find an awsome logging mill and was getting a little bit too much air. front wheels broke like pretzels, because I cant drive(it was a go as fast as you can and just hit it approach)

gtxracer 12.01.2007 04:56 PM

Yeah I was pretty amazed too. JR servos are weak, IMO. I've broken 3+ Z590m cases and now this one, which is probably the same. Guess I'll be throwing it on my crawler and putting the 94357 in there. I had it on throttle duties for my Revo but since I'm converting I won't need it. Depending on how light mine is compared to hers, I might swap the 58 out in mine for the 57 in hers.

gtxracer 01.06.2008 10:41 PM

Here's a small update. Gonna try to run a 4S on PinkVo soon. Got some new tires to go with those Velos too :)

DickyT 01.22.2008 09:20 PM

Nice paint job! I wish my wife were into RC, I'd get her one like that.

gtxracer 01.22.2008 09:31 PM

I'll show her and ask her what she thinks. How much per job? I'd want one too, she wants a His and Hers type of thing.

team3six 01.22.2008 09:44 PM

I have the price breakdown on my website. www.freewebs.com/team3sixrc
Ill give ya a small break if you mention that your an RC Monster member.

gtxracer 01.22.2008 09:53 PM

Nice prices, you just might be getting a couple jobs from me :yipi:
