hi guys,
i'm sorry if i'm asking a noobie question but; why are there 5 connectors on the esc? The esc i had was a BK9920 and there were only 3 of them to connect the motor. I dont quite understand it. |
3 for motor 2 for battery

aha that explains evrything.
thx |
do someone got the rx-8??
|
Dose the RX8 Combo come with presoldered motor wires and power supply wires?
|
Same question for me, Predoldered or not ?
|
Chances are this isnt being released until after the RCX show. Gotta show it before you blow it!
I honestly dont believe anything will come presoldered. Tekin doesnt do that because they believe that the user should have the ability to choose the length of the wires. They will most likely not have wires soldered to the can as well which is fine for me because the application I place the can will allow me how I want the wires attached and I can add my own quick dissconnect for the can. Everything I have ordered from tekin has come with all the hardware and good instructions, So there shouldnt be any worries of the hook up if your novice or only slightly educated at Speedos. |
I got an email from Jim Campbell that shipments started this week and that they were packaging on Wed., so it should be very soon
|
Is it true that Imapaktrc.com has the combo's in stock, or is it for the preorder?
http://www.impaktrc.com/index.php?cP...sort=3a&page=2 Nevermind when you click on it is says it is for a preorder, very misleading! |
The unit does not come with presoldered connections. Care MUST be taken to get good solder joints on this unit!
The fan takes about 30 seconds to replace! It has an easy to use connector and only 4 screws and then slides out the top. I also recomend leaving it out while you solder on your wires of choice. |
Have you guys talked about how this thing mounts?
It is soo cool! It has built in screw holes at the bottom of the case allowing the esc to be screwed in from below. Best mounting option so far. |

The deciding factor for me is how efficent the motors are, if they are as good or better than the Neu motors, I am all over it. Where are the motors made?

What's up anyone got one yet?
|
Just shipped today.
Check Rctech |
I saw on the rctech forum that something was changed on the RX8. Would some one at Tekin please tell us what was modified, that was noticed after the SilverState race.
|
Can someone answer my previous question? THANKS

Made it tougher for physical abuse like the Silver State track. Beefed up a connection we had seen fail more than once. The rule is once we note it, twice we fix it. We had seen that connection fail twice and one of them cost me my main in Vegas after some hard earned qualifying, so I truly understand the pain. Actually the only 2 failures we have seen in months except a wire breaking off. We are confident it is now as tough as it can be and it is ready for the real world. The circuit is solid and able to handle more power than the batteries can provide as long as nothing cracks or literally breaks off the unit. Soldering of the wires is really our biggest concern. Losing any of the wires can be bad if is jumps over and welds to the next post Tekin Prez |
Any news???? Anyone got an email that their combo was in the mail? Just wondering if these things actually went out when Tekin said that they were going too.

RC-Monster Mike had one on display in his RC-M RC8T at the RCX show this weekend.

Which system is for me?
I too waould like to put one of these on order but I am wondering which motor is correct for my application. I have a Losi 8ight converted to an 8e cirrently using a Medusa mr-036-060-2000v2-5 motor mamba max esc and Thunder Power 4s 50000 14.8v lipo. I am using the losi plastic 45t spur and Robinson 12t pinion. I cannot get this system to start smoothly and want to go with a sensored system. Which motor and gearing combo is recommended. I run mostly on a small backyard track. Thanks.

For most 4s buggy applications I feel the 2050 or the 1900 is ideal. The 2050 is a bit under rated to be honest and is more like a 2200. I run the Losi 2.0 with a direct drive Tekno kit geared with the stock metal spur (48) and run a 16 tooth pinion. I can run over 15 minutes strapped and pull off with 150 motor temps and 4 led's on the speedo for only a few seconds. NO cooling holes in my body either.
The 1900 is butter smooth and can pull the 16 tooth pinion as well. It's great when traction is down and you need to have a very linear powerband. |
What is the dealeo, is there anyone out there that had one of these on order that has got theirs yet? I just spoke to Amain and they are saying that they have not been given any eta at all!
|
From what I've read on other forums, they are shipping. It's all about your place (or your hobby store's place) in the queue now.

If not I will have to race my slash or go to the indoor track for 10th scale racing. Really want to get outside and do some 8th scale though. |
why the hobby's shop does't have the controller only....?????or they suppose to be avalaible????
|
The first items to ship were complete systems. Followed up by motor and speedo seperates. You should start seeing them pop up shortly.

When will the RX8 be available seperately?
|
its not supoosed to be long but...for me i was tired to wait and i ordered the combo...:yipi:
|
The Rx8 really does shine best when used with our T8 motor:mdr:
We plan to start selling the Rx8 seperately very soon. Maybe next week if production moves fast enough. Tekin Prez |
Prez,
How do I go about getting the new rotor for the T8 motor I have coming in? |
So far most rotor failures have been the very first run. We've added a load test to the rotors prior to assembly and this should catch any bad ones right off the get go.
If you do have a problem though we will take care of it right away. |
