One note on Mike's CRT.5 chassis...its not a big deal, but I did have to dremel grind a little bit around the front dog bone (mainly the ball) that is included with the kit. The main reason is because the dogbone that mike includes in the kit is beefier than the stockers. If you don't have a dremel or aren't handy with one...then you could order a second rear dogbone for about $8 from Ofna since it is exactly the same length as the CRT.5 EXT chassis front dog bone.

I have a dremel, so thats fine
But I wonder if you got a weird one or something? |

Glad you like the 7s, It was a good motor, my old 7 cell nimh could not keep up though. I recently recieved a hacker 15l motor for my converted Lightning Stadium 10. Should be interesting on 5s lipo! Trying to convert my fleet to 5s or higher. Not sure if all of my 10th scale will need to go to 5s as I have alot of 3000kv or so motors that work great on 3s.

It seems to have more than enough power & top end for me on the street. I'll have to take it to the track when i get my new MM from castle to see if i still feel the same way about it . |

Not sure if the tekno mount would work unless it was stood up . I did that with an emaxx battery tray and it worked fine. Not much real estate on a stock crt.5 chassis for a big battery and tray.

Sounds like its got some power:intello: |

POWER is good . |
Heck yes it is man!

I got my warrenty MM from castle today :yipi::yipi::yipi::yipi: . I set the lvc to 6.2 just to be safe sinice im only running 2s 8000 lipo. It runs great & very cool. I was running out front & it was dark, but light enough to see. I must have ran at least 15 -20 min or more. Then the wheel feel off & i couldnt find the wheel nut. So i got my flashlight & started lookig but no luck. The neighbor kid was on his hands & nees looking for it in the dark & he found it. so i put it back on then i let him drive the car for about 10 minutes, he was very excited to say the least .
|
Haha thats cool you let him drive it lol
Sounds fun! Are you going to get a vid? |

Does that motor run hot?

NO sir not at all so far. I ran for at least 20 min in 75-80 degree weather at night. I had a 12/46 gear & the motor was barely warm. |
Thats darn good!

Finally got the body mounted

Well I had some time and finally got the body mounted on my ext CRT.5. I had to get some larger/longer body body mounts and modify them...turns out that I was not able to use the truggy wing.
|
That stinks, it needs a wing IMO lol
Looks nice though |

Your the only one who couldnt get the wing to work....
BP has a jao crowd pleaser, Cemetery gates has a normal jato body, metal man has a nitro rusty body from proline I think, RCM Mike uses a RC10GT body I think the body just needs some creative trimming like all the other ones.... The stock body would be just retarded IMO lol, WAY to short |
I've had the same cool running results with my Novak GTB and 6.5 (5900kv) combo (46/12-13 gearing). I'm running truck tires (2.2 Panther Switch Clays) and driving really hard on an indoor track. Lots of throttle and up to 20 min. runs (4800 2s lipo). I don't get any heat. The motor is warm (no heat sink), but definitely not hot. What I do notice is a good sized area of the chassis, around the motor and motor mount, gets a bit warm too. It seems the aluminum mount and chassis work as a large heat sink.

Couple of pics.
Next to a T4 for size comparison. I used some aluminum angle and delrin blocks to make the battery tray. It fits a maxamps 2s6000. I didn't like the idea of the battery hanging off the side of the chassis, so it's on it's side. I also made room for the RX and ESC on the diff top plate. I just need to mill out some holes to lighten everything up. I tried a few bodies at the LHS. Found the Proline for the Losi XXXNT fits pretty good. Had to lose the wing, but that's ok because it looked a little small and silly with the 10th scale body. |
