Very cool guys! Well, I'm a huge Ferrari fan first, and then driver fan. I don't like Alonso. Hamilton is awesome. Kimi is a great talent but I feel he's too lazy. If he applied himself he would be unreal. I also like Massa, Kubica, and Heidfeld.
Too bad more people don't understand how amazing this sport is. The engineering, speed, G-forces, and driver skill levels are unreal. I don't understand how people don't appreciate that more here in the States. Oh, I loved some of the battles between Mika and Schumi. Awesome  |
F1 is something quite big here in france, probably not as much as in Italy, but we have all F1 Grand Prix live and Free to view on the main French private channel www.tf1.fr
Tamiya did very some nice 1/10 F1 models, and I remember that I have seen 1/4 (larger than a Baja5B and made by "Yankee") and 1/7 scale made by Avioracing http://pagesperso-orange.fr/2c.model...s/dscn0301.jpg http://pagesperso-orange.fr/2c.model...s/dscn0312.jpg http://pagesperso-orange.fr/2c.modelisme/du_nouveau.htm |

I am not a fan of the NASCAE short tracks, but racing on the 2 to 2 1/2 mile circuits is pretty intense. When you can run flat out with your foot to the foor at 220 MPH and keep cruising even through the turns that is just way cool. If you have ever driven a vehicle on Daytona, or the Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte you will see how cool that can be. If you go to a NASCAR race you can watch the race from anywhere in the track. If you go to an F-1 race there is no place to watch the entire race except from the easy chair watching your TV. I've been to both and frankly watching F-1 is frankly a real let down. Goin to a NASCAR race is so much more fun.:lol::lol: |
Watching F1 from the chopper camera shots it amazing. The speed at which they accelerate and corner defies the laws of physics.

Hence
Right you are, hence the only way to truly enjoy F-1 is to be seated comfortably in your easy chair at home watching it on the big screen. Not that there is anything wrong with that:lol:! ! ! ! ! BUT I do enjoy going to the track and watching at least one or two races a year, and F-1 racing just cannot provide that for us. There are other events that do like motocross, monster truck, drag racing, and even Xgames. You just cannot watch road racing from the stands and really enjoy it.:yes::whistle:

Right.
Thats my point. If you cannot sit right next to the big screen and still be somewhat comfortable your screwed. I have tried it several times both in the states and overseas and the feel of F-1 racing is always the same. There is no real comfort zone for watching the race unless you are in a suite with the big screen in front of you. Don't get me wrong I like F-1 as well, but it is just to difficult to actually see the race from the track. That is just the nature of road racing. I have been to dozens of NASCAR events and thr focus of the track owners has always been to try and set up the facilities so that a large % of the fans can see what is going on over the entire track no matter where they sit. Plus at most of the tracks when you get hungry there is no shortage of food stands near by to fee your face, choke down a beer, or even purchase fanatic gear. That is why the sport has become so darned popular.
