You don't have anything to worry about with those temps. 4 polers work the esc harder, so that's probably the source of your heat. I'd only be concerned if the ESC is going over 200.

Has anyone recieved one of the new 70mm afterburners? If so what are your thoughts, a comparison to the Neu 1515 would be great.

Oh. Heck. Yes.
My 1600kv 70mm shipped today, priority mail. I sure hope it makes it here by Saturday....or I'll have to wait until Monday. |
What were you gonna that on again Sleeb- 6s A123 wasnt it? I look forward to your findings
|
Yup, 6S A123 in my Hyper 7. Should be pretty spunky.

Thanks guys, how do you think the 70mm 1600kv Medusa would against a Neu 1515 1700kv motor in a truggy on the track?
|
...MM+5s+ (Medusa, instert here)= blow the doors off ur delorian...
|
The neu and medusas of similar spec will perform in a similar fashion I imagine- not enough users to give a definitive answer really. For the money, a 70mm medusa would perform as well as you need it too if the setup is good (gearing/voltage/kv choice). Suck it an see as us Brits say...
|
I would say for the money the Medusa will perform better, since I can buy 2 for the price of one Neu!
|
For the money, the Medusa is the better choice imo.
I have a TeknoRC Neu 1515 1Y running on 5S on my ST-RR and a Medusa 36-70-2000Kv running on 5S on my convertd revo. The performance difference between is pretty much negligible. I don't have an Eagle tree to back up my experience but it is how I felt when running both trucks in the soccer field on the same afternoon (swapping trucks with my 8-year old son). Temps were very nice. It was actually running cooler than the Tekno Neu due to the bigger holes in front of the Medusa motor. Highest temp was 120F on the Medusa while the Nue was 132F. |
After 10min of driving on a track today the 70mm 2300kv motor temp was only 35C (95F). But my zippy is dying since it got some damage last time so I stopped driving, it was 47C. ;p
Took a little video too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkauGYdagKU |
FINALLY!!!! I got the email that my Medusa'a are on their way.
Should have them next week sometime..............I hope. |
Ok, I think I got my buggy gearing right for the 36-60-2000kv motor. 15/48, with 43/10 diff's. This motor was amazing on the track on 5s. Timing set to normal, but I only got 15 minutes. I'm shooting for twenty and it could be a touch slower so I will set the timing to lowest and see where the runtime and temps are. Over half the price of a NEU, I'll take two more please.

JPG from http://sleebus.vox.com/ Works great, I like it much better than the Feigao. Significantly more efficient, judging by how many milliamps I used for my run. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship! Oh and it's a 1600kv 70mm on 6S A123. |
