I did very slow rpm checks unloaded to make sure it even ran but thats all.

Found a really good deal on ebay for two 2600mah 25-45c 6s packs "very thin" for $160. I was thinking I could run them in parallel and jump it to 5200mah 25c pack with 45c bursts for the 8ight. Once I sell the e-maxx this is first on my list for sure.

Figured out that if I did that it'd be 73mm tall or 3 inches "twice as tall" as my current pack but twice as potent.

The motor spooled up and ran very smoothly during my QC tests. if it can run on a junk 40$ 100 amp esc it can run on anything. let me know how you like it when you get that 8ght rollin'

below are pics of my buggy powered by the same motor only in a 4 turn delta. its 4 teeth above stock and does 40ish on 3s 4300. 6 cells tore up too much grass and cought my esc on fire:surprised:

Looks like a nice setup you got in their MTX. Ok guys I also decided to stick to 5s because I want to keep my current T2 charger. I am looking into getting a PolyQuest 6000mah 5s 25-50c Lipo pack for $310 and then selling the other 5s FP pack I have.

Oh and by the way the 8ight might arrive today and if it does Ill be sure to post pics of it. Ill also be clearing any uneeded nitro part off the chassis to make room for the conversion.

I am also looking into the Century Swift 600+ 1100kv motor for the 8ight. Here are a few pics...

4 turn delta might get it in that area, probably more like 1750Kv. ill run it through some equationsto see how clost to 1600Kv. my only fear with that motor is it might use thick carbon steel laminations in the stator, they produce eddy currents and make it really inefficient.

Is their anyway to remove that?

theres a few tricks of the trade to reduce the.. all motors have eddy currents in the magnetic field to a degree, just some more than others

Takedown 07.15.2008 11:44 PM

8ight hasnt arrived yet but I never try to get my hopes up so that when it doesnt arrive Im not pissed off about it. But Ill let you guys know when it does get here.
