Gets dark early to. I get back into it more when can.
I will get some pics up soon. I just wondering on motor and stuff now
for it. It won't be an all out crawler. So I am not sure what to go with.
I was thinking maybe a mambamax 4600 on 2s lipo.

Lipo in a crawler?

coolhandcountry 01.10.2007 11:08 PM

yep lipo in a crawler. I don't have others so think the lipo be fine. May have to see about some stuff.

Why not use lipo in a crawler? You wouldn't have to worry so much about high currents since you're not accelerating heavily. The only downside I can see is there would be less weight...

Well the weight is up hi so that could be a plus as well brian.
I plan to run lipo. I was more worried since a really low amp draw that it may
be a good idea to set the lvc to a higher than or same 3.2 cutoff.

Yeah, setting the LVC at 3.3v might be a good idea.

For a large shaftey I would recommend a Hyperion z3025-08. It is an out runner that can be found at holmeshobbies.com
John Holmes is a vendor at rccrawler.com and has helped me a lot in setting up the brushless system in my crawler.

There is a guy in my local crawling club that has that motor and an MM in his Twin Force. I can't remember exactley what voltage he is running, but the thing has crazy torque.

I am running a smaller version (Hyperion z3013-14) in my comp TLT with a Mamba Max. I love the versatilaty of the MM, because I can use it in my Clod with the brushed motors and have drag brakes.

If you want to get some ideas for your crawler, check out rccrawler.com.
There are forums for each type of vehicle and at the top of each is a sticky with a photo gallery.

Also, Li-po packs are used quite often in crawlers. The runtimes are amazing with 6 cell Nimh (I get about 45 minutes in the TLT, running 6 Energizer 2500mah AA cells). I would imagine you would have even more with Li-po.

Thanks for the info. I am a member over there and have talked to him.
