thanks man... i will let you know how mcuh money i will have left over after i buy my truck.. yes i don't have it yet but i wanna plan it out so i am ready to kick *** when i get it... how do you make a battery pack out of those batteries?

rc4x4nut 02.19.2005 02:51 PM

The emaxx is an excellent basher out of the box. It is pretty durable and fast. How about this. Get the gmaxx chassis and a pair of 7 cells. See how you like it and then work around that. I forgot. The weakest part on a stock emaxx are the shocks. They cant take alot of abuse. I suggest going with some sort of aluminum ones or going with and 1/8 shock setup.

thank you... i was thinking of either proline powerstroke (not sure on these) or Traxxas Big bores (not sure on these)

rc4x4nut 02.19.2005 02:56 PM

The powerstrokes are awesome. These are what i run and they are excellent. They soak up the bumbs as if they were no there at all. Highly recommended

The big bores i had a long time ago and they do not compare to the powerstrokes.

Poor man's shock fix for the stockers is to put small hose clamps around the caps to keep them from blowing. This work quite well (although it looks ghetto!) and costs about $2. A simple upgrade to the big bore shock caps will also greatly improve things for a low cost as well. Both the Pro-lines and the Traxxas Big Bores are worthy shocks. Soldering battery packs is fairly easy to do, but a pain to explain. The 7 cell sticks on this site work quite well and all you would need to do is put a dean's plug on the end (replace stock tamiya plug). They won't work with the stock chassis, but work great in the G-maxx chassis.

so should i get 6 cells to start off with and then move to 7 cells when i get the g maxx chasis? now this chasis i posted the link earlier even though it was for the suspension.. is that the strongest one? i LOVE that whole set up but i cannot afford it all right away.. i was reading somewhere that was saying that the powerstroke are very heavy.... now if they are heavy i can loose the weight with.. ummmm.. maybe a gmaxx chasis or suspension arms?

rc4x4nut 02.19.2005 03:07 PM

I believe the weight gain is worth the performance. I have never bottomed out or anything. plus the weight gain is not alot from stock.

Okay thanks.. i think if they are good shocks i might find a pair and order them even if they get here before the emaxx... now do you race or bash?

rc4x4nut 02.19.2005 03:13 PM

My truck is setup for race although it could use a diet but i do a little bashing. What mean I a "little" I mean I hit the bike track once a week and just enjoy the truck.

toby 02.19.2005 03:15 PM

sounds fun... i don't have a track in my town... so i will not be racing very much.. but i still want my truck stsying lean and mean
