Ok. This the last time I make a comment to you on this forum in my thread. At no time did I drag anyone's name or say don't deal with such and such as I think things should be dealt in there proper place. That is why I opened a "dispute", not a "claim" through Paypal as it is the proper thing when someone feels they have possibly been part of a bad transaction. SOOOOO.............. You stated the motor was in excellent condition. You stated that it only had a "couple" of races on it AND with fans! You also stated that you were running it with fuel tubing around the wires to protect them from possible shorting. Well here is the funny thing. dated 12 days prior to the RCtech thread stating the motor had 3 races PLUS practice? How is it there is no pics of the fans or a fan mount you stated? Most importantly, why does the Monster thread show the motor wires with NO tubing? Why did you go through the headache of unsoldering whatever connectors you were using, put fuel tubing over the wires, and put new connectors and cover the entire wire with heat shrink?? What were you hiding????

Who knows but I will say this. I think we will all agree that a Neu is a better quality motor than a Mamba yes??

With that said, I have personally pushed AND measured several Mambas pushing the 58-62k range while in a car pushing 100 plus on my data logger. If they can take it, I am pretty sure the Neu would as well. Of course, there is always the token black sheep that slips through the QC cracks:lol:

i did that because i wanted to protect the wires thats why it was done. yes 3 race days thats a couple im sorry you want other people to pay for your mistakes there was a fan on the motor you can try to call me out but you trying to be a tough guy will get you no where. there was never a warrenty implied on the motor you made a pass your truggy fell apart that makes you responsible for it not me.

while on the cracked rotor topic I thought I would mention that I cracked the rotor on my velineon on 3s. I was doing donuts with tiny tires for a few minutes attempting to lay down some sweet black marks(i know its dumb...I dont do stupid stuff anymore) and while at 168F my rotor cracked after about 15-20 seconds of a WOT donut. Couldnt have been more than 38,000rpm.

If your asking about the bolt spacing for mounting, then yes they are the same. My 1527's are the same as well.

Update: Still dealing with the motor issue. On a good note, I have spoken to Medusa and I will be getting a 80mm 1600kv hopefully soon to test out........

Personally to me it doesn't really seem like there was a problem with the motor when you got it. You said it did 71mph in 100ft without reporting any temp issues, so to me it sounds like the motor is good at that point. Then the center diff carrier fails and causes the center diff bearing to fail as well and also chew up the spur gear. That's going to put a lot of shock loads onto the motor, especially if it happened at high rpm. I wouldn't be surprised if the motor was damaged at that point. Even if it was a brand new motor you were using it could have been damaged then. It was only after that point that you noticed a problem with the motor, which makes me think there wasn't a problem before.
I'm sure if cheescake thought there was a problem with the motor he would just send it to neu, and not make it hard for him to sell anything else on a couple of different forums.

Should be an interesting car though once it's got a new/repaired motor in it, definatly needs a video.

I just want to do some research. BTW someone mentioned that foams were not allowed but produced higher speeds? Where do I get foams precut/trimmed true. I myself am after some high speeds as well and I am new to 1/8 scale brushess. Any schooling would be helpful. I will start a thread when I get all my shipments in, but we are working on putting together the order in the "brushless" thread.

We need more pics and vids when you get up and running. Please keep us posted on the progress.

I understand where you are coming from. However, when I have a manufacturer telling me something else, I would have to assume he knows what he is telling me!! Regardless, I have gone ahead and sent the motor to Neu myself to get the final word. I just want to get it over and done with!!!

Next, about the foams...... Everyone is trying to follow the ROSSA rules setup by the guys in the UK who came with them so everyone can have a standard to go by. For MT you can not use foams because they are not tall enough. I believe the class says the tires need to be at least 5.5 inches, not sure. When you surf the above sites, you will find the correct info.

Lastly, your inspiration is quite an ingenious system!! That buggy is running on 4S. HOWEVER.........................his trick is that he custom mounted a Savage 3 speed tranny to basically create an "overdrive" to the spur gear creating more rpm than if it were to be connected directly to the diff. Thus creating higher rpm and a higher top end. I definately take my hat off to that guy!! He was thinking WAYYYYYY out of the box!!

Well, a thousand words or so have already been spewed back and forth regarding the NEU motor. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I was the recipient of a used motor that didn't come as described. Luckily, the sender accepted it back and refunded my money. But... IMO, if you buy a motor used NEU, Lehner, Phase Plasma or whatever, assume it's been through the ringer and expect the worse. I think it's easier to just deal with NEU and the repair costs and call it a lesson learned. Let's keep up the positive info in these forums regardless of who started what.

Oh, and I'm going to test out my just-finished Muggy at Mills Pond park today. Give me a buzz if you wanna get some runs in with that big ole Medusa ya just got!
