LOL!

Was just about to order some IB4200s too. That sucks, will wait for GPs.

Alex Berman 01.12.2006 04:06 PM

Don't wait for the GPs either... Not worth it... As far as I am concered, the IB3800 is still the cream of the crop...

dabid 01.12.2006 07:51 PM

Well, I guess I'm an idiot and a test dummy all in one, got a stick pack of IB4200's last night on employee discount for $35. I'm gonna tear them down and do the typical side by side conversion with battery bars, then see if somehow my cells are actually good.

But I wish to use it for bashing, I don't race. So IB4200s will be better than the IB3800 no doubt? Explain for me please. :)

I am getting a little over 4000mah out of the ib 3800s. I think he is talking about mah per $.

Alex Berman 01.13.2006 01:27 PM

The IB 4200s are having shorting problems... Read my earlier post on them...

Yes I know that but is it worth waiting for the re-release in March or do you really think 3800s are the better option all together?

Rtsbasic 01.13.2006 05:34 PM

coolhandcountry, with your IB3800's, are you getting over 4000mah in, or are you actually getting that out when using a discharger? Because a lot of that is actually lost to heat and that sort of thing. My GP3300's take in ~3700-3800mah, but only give out ~3200mah on my discharger.

coolhandcountry 01.13.2006 06:14 PM

I never tried on discharge. none of my other batts get that hi.

The batts only heat up to about 110-115 f

Ran my IB4200 pack today for the first time, charged it up at a more "gentle" 4a charge and ran it in my T2 with Orion Method R 19x2.......very nice run. Despite this only being the first charge run through it (dumped it previous to charging, but that doesn't count), I got a solid 15 minutes of runtime before they started to show signs of dumping, I was actually very glad by the time it started slowing because it was a bit cold outside tonight........45* is cold for us at least.

Anyway, first run, went great, solid power, good punch, and super long runtime.........I'm hoping the pack doesn't blow up or anything because I like it thus far. :)

I'm going to be doing some hands on tests with the 4200s this week. I'll let you guys know what the deal is.
Alex

Thanks Alex.

Can people give feedback on the 4200s please who have purchased them? Holding up well?
