Hello again,

no sorry, i'm still alive!

but i went back to school so there is not enough time for all the projects.

here's a small update:

the centerdiffmount for my X2CRT centerdiff is already finished and mounted
but because of that i killed the transmission the drive shafts are to short so i make some.

front shaft/ left threaded

those are right threaded

rear shaft/ right threaded

both

overview

next step is make two pressureplates for the rear brakedisc because it has a special outline

first test will be posted

Nice!... we need videos:lol:... won't the torque unscrew the shafts .... just curious... never saw them done like that before... very cool though

because of that i have to make left threaded for the shaft in the front and i hope the brakingtorque is not high enogh to lose the loctite.

Yeah... that's what I was thinking... they would experience quite a bit of torque from braking, accelerating and reversing... What if you used retaining pins that passed
through the torque tubes and threads after tightening them down, would it weaken the shaft? or would that pin be sheared off?

yes, it would weaken the shaft, the pin wouldn't be sheared off, but it's
definitely no solution, the outer shaft diameter is 6mm with M5 thread there is
not enough material.

if the braktorque is to high i make a small spot weld (tungsten inert gas welding)

ANGRY-ALIEN 04.04.2010 12:42 PM

Cool... needless to say I love your designs man... really good stuff...

Kcaz25 04.04.2010 12:45 PM

Great!!! What are the shafts made of? I can't wait to see a video. Sweet Maxx!

suicideneil 04.04.2010 02:21 PM

Definately a unique approach to making dogbones, I like it. Also, center diff and brake disc setup is rather awesome

magman 04.04.2010 03:58 PM

If you are concerned about them backing out, put a small tack weld on one side..although it may throw the balance off a bit

Semi Pro 04.04.2010 04:12 PM

thread lock green should easly keep then tight

Delta Maxx 04.11.2011 01:36 PM

to be continued

He's alive!

How the hell did I miss this thread before? Amazing work my friend, hopefully one day I will be able to join the "home machined billet center diff motor mount" crowd soon (I have a manual mill, have to do it the old fashioned way!) Awesome setup though man, I'm really interested to see how it turns out!

JERRY2KONE 04.15.2011 04:27 PM

Incredible.

I'm with you on that one. I never saw this thread until today. Beautiful work and it sure is nice to have your own CNC machine to do all of this home grown design work. Very creative and nice to see you keep things moving on here so we can watch it all take place. So what are you doing in school now. CAD, CNC, Mechanical Engineering? Keep up the great work. THe first vehicles looked great so I am sure this one will be an added improvment from the other ones.

Delta Maxx 04.18.2011 11:20 AM

Thank's !!

The shaft ....., yes, the torque of the motor unscrewed the shafts
so i make a small spot weld ...., yes, the torque of the motor unscrewed the spot welded shafts, too.

ESC/Motor:
Tekin RX8/ T8 1700kV / Lipo 5s

next step make a 360deg butt weld

if i fiind somebody to hold the cam, i'll make a short vid today

but the thing is the next chassis to optimize the weight distribution is nearly done.

the CAD- Work for that revotruggy thing is in a phase to show you guys (in a new Thread)
