so any more news on the car? How has handling been compared to other conversions based on your experiences?

I haven't yet had another chance to race it , but should be this weekend. It was way better handling wise to the 8ight that I had before, it has far more rear end grip and yet has better turn-in than the Losi. On-power steering is less though, probably a good thing considering the loose track surface I race on.

Right now, looking at either doing one of these, or just going with the RC8B when it becomes available and converting it.

I would go with the Hyper (though obviously I would say that!) because the design is new and fresh, the RC8B is just the RC8 with the parts it should have had in the first place (stepping in the firing line here!). However, this does mean that it is more proven perhaps than the Hyper.

One thing I wonder, if they could have designed it so the ESC sat on the chassis, and moved the receiver box to be above the servo?

I would have thought so, but you would be more limited on ESC space (esp with a HobbyWing 150A ESC), and cooling flow might suffer in comparison to where it is now. Also, the body fitment may be a problem with the radio box up high at the front. And the radio box would have to be smaller so those with the larger receivers would be stuffed. Just my opinions though.
