Is the wiring that sensitive? Both my coax and CAT5 look like mangled junk.

The wire management isn't an issue. If the bundles of wire are tugging on the coax connectors they might be coming apart and creating a bad connection. It's just like R/C wiring, bad connections have higher resistance. That's why I love fiberoptics. Too bad you cant run a car on red light....

Dollar says you're using RoadRunner.

Wait, isn't that all SoCal has? Grr.

Me? SoCal also has Verizon Fios, but I'm not sure how that compares.

rawfuls 04.18.2009 12:28 AM

Eh, that's right.
Yeah, what are you using?
Roadrunner right? :p

I'm wondering why RoadRunner's upload is so slow lately.
Before it used to be speeding.. Hmm

MetalMan 04.18.2009 12:33 AM

Yep, Roadrunner. We've been using it for about 10 years now. Honestly the upload speed doesn't bother me too much, but it is a cause for confusion.

Paralyzed, try rebooting your router / firewall (I really hope you have one!) and your cable modem. Some brands have issues that cause performance to degrade over time.

Jeeesus christ Cheesecake.
I like that work connection! :D

It depends on the time of day though- this was done at ~5:40pm in the UK, but after most people have gone to bed, it gets alot quicker due tio less traffic- typically about 7-8mb/s. Still crap compared to some of you bastards- I hate you and your super fast internet connections...

Edit:

20 minutes later and its nearly twice as fast- bizarre......
