I just bought 3 sets of those from Mike along with a 720i charger. I plan to switch to 10awg all around (except for Neu's wires, obviously can't change those) plugged by the 6.5mm bullets, so we'll see how I like them.

Why are you still comparing the Deans to Tamiya's? Yes, we know they are worlds better... as far as I can read, we are comparing to bullet connectors.

I guess it is not that bad when you think of it like that, however if you need sets of males for different motors then it adds up quickly $$$. You also end up with a bunch of extra females that are un-used.

Leaning slightly closer to the original topic, I've been pretty happy with the HobbyCity ribbed imitations in low-power setups, but I'm also perfectly willing to believe they're not quite as good as the originals.

What really bothers me about genuine Dean's plugs isn't the price, although I'd like to see it come down - it's the availability. Why won't the sell the things in bulk? That was what convinced me to try the HobbyCity imitations in the first place. When we routinely use quite a large number of these connectors, buying them a set at a time is a pointless irritation.

While not exactly bulk, they do sell 5 packs of males and 5 packs of females at my LHS. One of the few things I still actually buy there. Still 5 is better (and cheaper) than a m/f pair at a time.

bulk= cheaper per unit

that's why they don't do it.. although they could sell something like 10pks and keep the price basically the same per piece... just do it for convenience
