lol neweuser. pcnutz, the resistance of a given L motor is the same resistance of the same XL motor. Check out this table (at the bottom) http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl...l%3Den%26lr%3D
See how the resistance of the L motors and XL motors are pretty much identical. However, XL motors are more efficient because they run cooler (better heat distribution) and they have a higher kt rating and don't need to pull as much current.

dunno about that chart, why would a bigger motor with more wire have less resitance

neweuser 03.02.2006 03:44 PM

again i have to say thanks to macfjej, he referred me here and it has been most helpful! and to you maxxdude...i anticipate my project being awhile, but i think with all the info and specs from you guys, it'll be pretty decent!

maxxdude1234 03.02.2006 04:03 PM

pcnutz, although the wires are longer they are also thicker. With higher turn motors, there are more turns (longer wire) and the wire also becomes thiner, hence resistance increases and less current draw.

my next step is to mount motor and batteries for balance, whats the best way todo this

Sylvester 03.03.2006 08:07 AM

On those chassis, it looks like gmaxx straps would work perfectly, how many cells are you running? looks good so far.

pcnutz 03.03.2006 08:09 AM

I am using 7 cells each side with twinforce batt cages slung under, need to figur out how to balance the truck to mount them

well I finaly got it together. but I got alot more work togo. the motor is kinda slow on 12 cells and 18/50 on the twin trans going to have to rework my 14 with longer power wires to reach from under the chassi and go up 2 teeth on the pinion, but so far I am happy with the setup

Looks like an interesting project!
Unrelated to the build, but you really need to
a) get a better camera, and
b) resize your pics! Even on T1 at work, it's taking forever to view your pics.
