Now im confused - Do i work on my truggy - Help mike with our electric truggy conversion, work on my Revo, or work on the Gmaxx - Damn - not enough hours in the day for this stuff. I know Mike knows what im talking about - LOL :)
|
the time you are wasting on the internet is huge.. That's the point.. ;)
i did this conversion in 8 days, one day i was too sick to work on it, and i took one day off.. that's 6 days, i got it saturday noon, and i have got a fulltime job as well. in total, i could have done it in 3,5 days. so JUST DO IT is my slogan.. (or was it Nike's?) |
hi rene
that lightning will live up to his name! really impressiv. rhylsadar |
well Hello Rhylsader!
Glad you found your way in this forum! |
Serum, what gearing are you using?
|
A proper one.... why?
16.54 to 1 or 13.78 to 1 |
just asking, im learning more about gearing, so i just needed to know.
|
What have you learned about gearing so far?
|
so far im just starting, first im getting info on all the topspeeds on 2nd gear with 66t spur. alll from 16-24 t pinions.
|
a few things on gearing;
-weight of a vehicle -demanded topspeed vs acceleration (onroad/offroad) -overgearing is a killer (too small motor/controller for the gearing, thats overgearing) and ofcourse, the used setup, amount of cells (and the power that these particular cells can deliver), torque of the motor etc. the very very best way to examine the gearing is with a eagletree setup. that's the lesson i could give you. That and the knowledge that the best cells out there only deliver about .85 -.95 volts on a 100A load.. |
Serum, can you get the pictures to work again for a newbie? :)
|
Done deal Natrix! (it was about time too, those picture-less threads are useless on a forum right!?)

Great work Serum. I hope I am not asking too much, but page 3 is still missing pictures. I am absolutely drooling over your build. :004: |
Check out my site, all the pictures available are there.
|
Did that, I hope you don't mind me copying some of your design. Your build thread and website has really got me revved up to get my LSP converted.
I have seen pictures of a few different ways the motors are oriented. Yours on top of the diff and in the rear, some on the side in the rear, and some with the motor up front with a flipped center diff. Did you experiment with the front location and feel that the rear location gave a better chassis balance? |
