All this talk about locking the front diff spurred me to chime in. You guys want a similar setup to what the 1/10 TC cars run. Diff in the rear and a spool up front. This will give you 4 wheel brakes and will allow the car to rotate. the trick is finding a diff that will fit. Serpent used to make some really sweet rear diffs and I'm sure there were others back in the 2wd 1/8th days. Just need to do your homework.
http://www.serpent.com/product/808390/ There is a 50 tooth pulley option. I have one of these and they are very trick. I've attached some pics of my projects. |

A few more...
I also have the ability to produce motor mounts and spur adapters. There is about a 3 week lead time but they are worth it. The ones in the pics are for the Mugen MRX2 & 3 but I most likely will expand my selection once I get more sample dimensions. |

I had some people asking about the chassis. here are a few construction pics.

The Lipo is in the center? Can it fit a 4 or 6s?
|
As you can see the pack is a bit off center and the one shown is a 4s, 5200mah, 40c lipo pack from SMC. I used this pack because it has a similar footprint as the standard ROAR legal lipo packs. 138mm X 48mm X ?mm tall.

Nice but it's limited to 4s only. If need to complete with gp the main is 1 Hr. A 6s setup is better.

It's electric thus it really should only adhere to an electric race program. 6s is definitely better, don't get me wrong but the cars are getting too heavy already. (diminishing returns). We find that we are adding more power just to overcome the added weight of having more power. I could easily change the design to handle a 6s brick. Actually the design the way it is can handle 6s, 7s, 8s or whatever. It's really a matter of how the cells are designed and configured. Several low capacity cells or fewer higher capacity cells. It's all a matter of give and take. |
Yes true but so far there's no Ep 1/8 on road unless we create 1.
