Looks awesome man!

Let me know how that slipper clutch holds up for you once it's up and running. That has been my biggest headache since my savage got heavier and I installed the 1717. The plastic spur melts where the slipper pad is and the steel gear just plain slips.

I have an HD slipper spring setup from Kershaw Designs that I haven't installed yet. I heard it works well so that's what I'll try.

I'll have to look that one up. I'm using the Kershaw designs tranny and didn't know they had a better slipper. All I saw was the option for a Revo slipper.

Chassis came back from the coaters and a buddy of mine let me borrow his hostile slicks for some on road testing.

Looks pretty nice all mounted up I think!

Got the body back and couldn't help but throw it on for some quick shots too!

Looks nice. You really wouldn't know its not an e-converted Baja, except when it starts roosting from all 4 wheels.

Battery packs now have a place to live. Strapped in nice and tight. Truck is sitting at 24lbs the way it is in this photo with the body mounted.

That is a nice looking truck, looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

Is that a TB SS in the backround?

Thanks, unfortunately not an SS. I wanted one but was forced into buying something new quicker than anticipated and had to settle for an I6 LT. I've done some cosmetic things to it but that's it.

I've got an I6 LT TB 4x4 myself, along with the GTO.

The TB looks good with some exterior mods. I've always liked the clean, shaved, colormatched look.

I have a 97 2-door Yukon GT and a 92 Typhoon.

Prototype hub should be here this week!

That hub looks nice. Bolt on is easier than modifying an extended 23mm hub and wrapping it with aluminum tape like I suggested too! Is the piece on the right the nut or an unfinished hub? I'm confused by the hole drilled in it, set screw?

NickRummy 09.06.2011 12:29 PM

The piece to the right is a drilling fixture. The axles require a new hole to be drilled in them for the baja 4mm pin. Basically slide the xl axle into the fixture, put a wheel nut on to hold it in place and then drill a hole through the opening in the fixture.

Were you running 6s when the Mamba XL blew up?

NickRummy 09.09.2011 09:06 AM

I never even got a chance the run the Mamba XL. I had soldered on 8mm bullets to it and was getting ready to test and then Castle issued the recall so I sent it out. Truck has never been ran.

I will be using 8s on it though.
