http://fastlanemachine.net/proddetai...LM40020&cat=22 This bulk is designed to be used with buggy diffs. Since the ring gear of the buggy diff is smaller, they moved the pinion section towards the ring gear. That is why you cant use the 16x8x5 bearings. So what bearing size did you use? |
nopes i have these...
http://fastlanemachine.net/proddetai...LM40010&cat=22 the xl hybrid bulkheads...they do state : Accepts stock gears with no modification anyway no probz for me, they really are great pieces of art and i ordered 16x8x4 bearings from boca and they work like a charm now so no worries. |
Damn, progress as i see :)
How do you like the widened truck ? I will go back to stock wide lenght with wide axles front and keep the wide brace kit at the rear. Truck will turn a lot better this way. It is not such a big deal but for a track with sharp turn it might be a problem. We need front CVDs and something similar to LRP S8 BX steering knuckles. That would be grat and nice turning radius. |
hellohello! it's been a while but i have some updates for you all! :)
Dejan from Alza Racing made me some custom tvp's with engravings so now it's really one of a kind and really Chunky donkey style :) http://oi41.tinypic.com/295rayx.jpg http://oi42.tinypic.com/9tzww6.jpg time for some advertising http://oi43.tinypic.com/8vrfhu.jpg they're pretty heavy but it will move i'm sure 8) |
Allmost everything was ready from that point, i just had to drill some holes to fit the center diff, battery plate, esc plate....
Then i encountered some probs with my previous center diff so i decided to make another one myself. I used 10mm thick alu plates, a handsaw and a drill, tapped thread and this is the result, it's pretty Chunky... http://oi42.tinypic.com/21brort.jpg offna spider diff with 500k oil. mounted on the tvp http://oi42.tinypic.com/8vpy78.jpg with the motor http://oi39.tinypic.com/2zr43l1.jpg overall view http://oi40.tinypic.com/2dvl8hz.jpg then the rest was pretty simple, just had to add a battery tray, position the esc recieverbox plate and add the electronics. http://oi42.tinypic.com/sg1l42.jpg |
the front bumper was also a bit beefed up ;)
http://oi40.tinypic.com/vx1ca9.jpg The upper arms are now also fully adjustable and made from 5mm rvs threaded rods and the adjustable Savage upper arms set from hpi. http://oi41.tinypic.com/33f82gz.jpg after that it's SHOWTIME! pics are a bit dark but its finished and ready to roll :) the lexan body is from Grafil and designed for the mcd race runner. compared to his real baja brother http://oi41.tinypic.com/11ah9ph.jpg http://oi41.tinypic.com/2hnx8hj.jpg http://oi44.tinypic.com/33y6tg0.jpg and all alone in the snow 8) http://oi39.tinypic.com/ei2ys3.jpg http://oi39.tinypic.com/b3r1mv.jpg YIHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA i did it and i'm happy about it lolllzzzz Took me some time but i'm glad i finished it hehehehe. Have i run it yet? euhm you can start laughing now coz i installed the rear diff backwards so my wheels turned in opposite directions. Good thing the wheels were off the ground when i tested it so i just have to switch that diff and off i go! |
some specs:
- the weight of the car with batteries and body is 11,5kg or 25,35 pounds, my friends baja 5b without fuel is 10kg. - the wheelbase is: 56cm and a baja 5B has a 56,5cm wheelbase.- - width: Fr = 50cm or 19,7 inches Rear = 52cm or 20,5 inches NOTE: is use the standard Flux drive axles not the XL ones to reduce stress on the bearings and i just have long arms lol :) vids will be made soon! |
how has this been holding up for you?
Looking at the pics of the servo mount, do you think someone could rig a dual servo setup? |
