i suppose cause its kinda self explainatory(sp? lol) like if you buy an arm then its kinda obvious lol, but sometimes im brain dead and need the obvious things pointed out. Plus i think instructions make the company seem more professional.

The instructions on their site is a good idea!

your gonna ruin a 12 dollar pinion with that spur. you need a hardened pinion if you run a steel spur. you could get a emaxx spur from rrp. the come in 66 and 70 tooth i think.

I guess I could run the stock for now. Do you know this for sure?

Thanks for the help.

coolhandcountry 01.21.2006 11:06 PM

I have ran a reg pinion on a metal spur. Yes it wears out real fast. The metal shaving are attracted to the magnet in the motor to. just to point that out.

Thanks. Since I can only get the 5mm from east coast, I run plastic. I am going to start 66 18 with 12 cells and take it from there.

Parts are on the way - I can't wait to get this thing up and running.

Do the angle mounted servos cause any problems with setting up the steering and such?

I'm a total newb. I've just had really bad luck with breaking stuff. I just broke my stock chassis last night hitting a sidewalk at about half speed. I don't get it. Does the angle mounting cause any problems with aluminum servo skidplate clearance or anything?

Will standard bodies fit the extended chassis without looking too bad?

Does the FLM only come with one driveshaft?

I would really like to get a replacement ASAP so I can transfer everything to a new chassis this weekend if possible. Just two more questions:

Are the chassis braces dimensions different from the stock? I have a full center skidplate that won't work right if the braces are different angles and such.

Does this chassis lower the batteries like the Gorillamaxx chassis do? I really like the groud clearance I have right now with the stock

Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I have all the info I need before I shell out the $$. I want to make sure it will be a pretty straight forward conversion without TOO many hangups, LOL. Thanks in advance for all of you guy's help.

squeeforever 02.28.2006 10:27 PM

the angle wont cause any troubles. you will just have to relign it and such. your servo skid should work fine.

im not sure but it wont be to bad although proline makes an extended for such things.

the flm only comes with one since the rear is extended and not the front.

if you order it ASAP mike might be able to get it to you by at least saturday.

yes, the chassis braces are different and im not sure if your skid will work.

no and yes. the chassis was made to were you can mount them on top like most or on bottom for a lower cg if you want.

it should be pretty straight forward and you shouldnt have any troubles getting it together.

by the way, welcome to forums! you will certainly learn alot from here as all of us have and you will like it here im sure. its the best forum for brushless infor there is!

coolhandcountry 02.28.2006 10:30 PM

It only comes with the rear shaft. The stock front one will work.

Mike has some extended bodies to fit the extended chassis. The stock looks alittle funny cause it is short.

The center skid is not going to work on the flm unless it is only mounted right under the tranny.

The batteries are mounted hi like on a stock chassis.

I had no problems with the angled servos just have to adjust the linkages some.

sorry for the bad luck on stock. The flm is much stronger than the stocker.

squeeforever 02.28.2006 11:14 PM

coolhand, cant the batteries be mounted on the bottom for a lower cg?

IndyEMaxx 03.01.2006 05:37 AM

Are the better battery hold downs available yet?

How do you mount the antenna if there is no hole for it?

VWT4 03.01.2006 07:31 AM

I have the FLM extended chassis and itīs GREAT!!! :004:

The GorillaXL Straps fits perfect.

I finally run with a BL setup: Micro3695 and Feigao9L with 14 VTEC 3.700mA cells runs 41mph .

Waiting for a 8XL and Hyperion 3.700VX 11,1V 20c lipos.

coolhandcountry 03.01.2006 08:50 AM

What version of chassis is that vwt4? I like the looks of that one better.

Yeah squee you can mount your batteries on the bottom. I don't like the idea of that though. It will take some serious pounding some time from debris.

I donīt know, I bought it last month to RCBros.

It fits 8 cells side by side perfectly, but the GorillaStraps donīt come with the FLM kit. :frown:

IndyEMaxx 03.01.2006 11:15 AM

What do you do with your antenna w/out having a place on the chassis to stick it?

I use a metal antenna mount like this, but there are similar in plastic:

Is cheap and easy to find in your LHS or in Ebay.

IndyEMaxx 03.01.2006 12:30 PM

Well, I've been trying to order my chassis and a few other things, but the site doesn't seem to be responding well. :sigh:

RC-Monster Mike 03.01.2006 12:57 PM

are you having trouble ordering from here? what issues are you having?

IndyEMaxx 03.01.2006 01:51 PM

The site seems to stall every now and then and just take forever to bring up a new page. If I wait like 20-30 minutes it sometimes fixes it. It could just be my network here at work though. Hey Mike, since your here, are the aluminum Batt holder available yet?

If I can get the order in today Mike, could I get you to overnight the parts to me so I can have them by the weekend?

neweuser 03.01.2006 02:18 PM

So this G3 maxx will convert straight from the stock? I could use stock stuff until i go brushless?

Sylvester 03.01.2006 02:28 PM

Yes, you can use everything you got for now.

neweuser 03.01.2006 02:34 PM

nice truck, is that the gorilla Nick?

Sylvester 03.01.2006 02:37 PM

Whos truck are you reffering to?

neweuser 03.01.2006 03:20 PM

on page one, it's nick's truck...he has pics, it's an older line i was going thru...

neweuser 03.01.2006 04:19 PM

thanks for the info on the G3 Sylvester!

IndyEMaxx 03.02.2006 06:22 AM

Will this: http://www.rc-monster.com/fastlane.php?pg=3 skidplate work with the extended chassis?

coolhandcountry 03.02.2006 06:56 AM

If you talking about the FLM one no. It work with out extension but not with.

Sylvester 03.02.2006 08:10 AM

No it will not, it only works with non-extended, if you want, you can always try gorillamaxx skids, they are 30% lighter than stock plastic, and are ALOT stronger!

IndyEMaxx 03.02.2006 08:14 AM

Are there any transmissions skids that will work with the FLM extended E-Maxx chassis?

Sylvester 03.02.2006 08:28 AM

Yes, if the flm chassis braces are the same allignment like stock (which i think they are) Any center skid should do the job!

RC-Monster Mike 03.02.2006 09:15 AM

The FLM center skid will work with the FLM ext. chassis. No problem. If you order early enough today, Indy, I can express your parts. :)

Sylvester 03.02.2006 09:24 AM

Mike, have you sent out my pinion? thanks:)

IndyEMaxx 03.02.2006 10:47 AM

Well, just got the extended chassis ordered, WOOHOO!!!

Sylvester 03.02.2006 11:42 AM

Nice man! Be sure to take pics once it comes in :D:)

IndyEMaxx 03.03.2006 07:52 AM

Where would be another good place to look for an extended body for the FLM chassis? I only have the stock E body right now. I'd like to find a Jeep or Hummer body. Jeep Wrangler Rubicon unlimited would be awesome. :-)

Sylvester 03.03.2006 08:08 AM

Look at www.pro-lineracing.com , they should have a good ext body for you:)

IndyEMaxx 03.03.2006 08:54 AM

From the looks of it, the only bodies available are Ford F-350 and Cadillac Escalade.
